Holy crap, David Mack is awesome.

Not that this is news.

I just happened to be reminded, as I read Twilight's Wrath for the first time (his story in Tales Of The Dominion war telling of a major turning point in Shinzon's rise to power), and actually found myself "damn, this is awesome, I wish he'd written a whole novel about this."

Oh, yes, I found myself wanting a novel about Shinzon, essentially the lamest villain Star Trek ever came up with.

Dude never misses, I tell you. Every damn book, short story, whatever manages to exceed my expectations.

HA! I had that exact reaction back when I read it! It was in fact the first in a long line of reasons why Mack is by far my favorite author.

I gotta say, this is my favorite thread title I've ever seen. Nice way to end the day. Thanks for the ego-boost! :D

Although it might not have been an ego-boast, I bet you would not have complained if the the thread title had been:
"Holy crap, David Mack wins MegaMillion."

Of course, you realize that almost immediately after reading this title, his wife then stuck her head in the door and said, "Holy crap, David Mack still has to change the cat litter!"

Yeah, but I'm sure he did it awesomely. :bolian:

That's it! We should nickname David Mack "Captain Awesome," a la Devon in Chuck! (Hey, it's better than "Angel of Death," right?)

I wouldn't. I think the books are just about as good as that story could possibly be told. Movies would just change stuff and leave out important things.

Yes, he is. Thanks for all the great books, David. And, happy holidays to you and your family. Now, a question: I usually just lurk here, but I have not seen Terri O or KRAD post in a while. Are they OK? And, will Andy Mangels have another Star Trek book before the sun goes super nova?

^Hope so.;)

BTW...here's a question for David Mack:

When you do push-ups, sir, are you lifting yourself up...or are you pushing the world down?

How about no film about those books? Even better, let's pretend they never existed.
And a fine "How do you do?" to you, too. ;)

You're quite welcome, and thanks for the kind words.

Can't speak for Terri or Andy, but Keith is well. He's been very busy with comic-book writing projects and some new original novel proposals, and he is actually here at my house as I type this. In a couple of hours, we'll be hosting some friends for a screening of his roast DVD.

I wouldn't dream of horning in on Chuck Norris's territory.
