I'm an oldschooler myself anyway - cut my teeth on Doom, Doom2 and spent most of my multiplayer life playing QWTF and Q3F - but I still get alot of fun out of playing MW2 on my PS3.

See, playing with a PS3 controller compared to a mouse & keyboard is a distinct disadvantage. I can understand, then, why they put aim-assist and the like into these games on consoles because if they didn't people would be far too haphazzard and spastic with their playstyle.

And CoD1 (multiplayer) is in fact better than MW2.

It's just one of those things that happens all the time. Kids probably look at the OT and think it's shit because it looks considerably worse than the PT. Halo kids piss off Goldeneye 64 kids because THAT was the true first console FPS. Goldeneye 64 kids piss off Quake 1/Team Fortress kids because why would anyone play split screen on a single TV when you can play 32 players online? It goes on and on.

And here I am a weirdo who still thinks WaW is better than Modern Warfare 1

I'm not trying to dog MW2 or anything (gah, I need to stop calling it that--MW means MechWarrior, dammit! ), I enjoyed it quite a bit. I was just surprised at how easy the campaign was.

I actually think I enjoyed the Ranger missions more than the TF-141 missions.

My favorite CoD multiplayer is CoD3.

I think it's mostly because it was a Team Fortress style class based multiplayer, and Team Fortress 2 is now my favorite multiplayer FPS. Also it has maps that are much better then Infinity Ward maps. Merville, Poisson and Eder Damn are better maps then any CoD4 map.

It's too bad CoD3 wasn't released on PC, I doubt it has much of a community left on Xbox Live.

So let me get this straight, some people are gonna get suspended because they are playing a legal copy of a game on a totally unmoded console and the manufacturer of the game is at fault for not finding the bug or patching the bug.

I agree it sucks to play against these idiots but M$ is going overboard on this one.

The thing is, unless they are keeping logs of each kill made, there's no way they can actually track who they would need to ban.

Not for nothing though, but the PC gamer in me would say that if we had dedicated servers, we could just permaban these guys and play in peace. But that'd be too advanced for IW, it seems.

IW can't even track kill stats by weapon type. I just try to keep my expectations low where they are concerned.

I ran across Javelin glitchers for the first time last night, and it was one of the most frustrating multiplayer things I've ever encountered. I shot one of the glitchers from about 25 feet away and he basically managed to take me out using the glitch. And they kept doing it to my teammates so the entire team bitched them out after the match.

I know I suck at the game and absolutely don't care if people kill me legitimately--I'm the furthest thing from a K/D ratio whore. That said, I'm all for these retards who use the glitch being banned--they ruin the game for everyone else and fully deserve it.

They run around w/javlelin in there arms and when you shoot them the two of you explode. They get credit for killing you.

It's basically instant martyrdom, if you think about it... except you can kill an entire cluster of guys if you are quick enough.

Thing is, I technically wouldn't mind if you could actually use the Javelin as a normal ground based weapon like the AT4 or RPG... but you can't, so, bah.

Yup, the javelin glitch is basically martyrdom times 100 in effectiveness and damage. A key difference is that you could run away and escape relatively unscathed from a martyr, which I haven't seen happen with the javelin glitch yet.

Not that I am defending the Mo-Mo's in the least bit but how is it cheating if you (or anyone else) can do the same thing right back?

Is it cheating if someone camps outside a spawn point and kills you when you re-spawn?

Is it cheating if someone finds a sweet sniper pit and kills you 100 times in a match?

At most I think it's very unsportsmanlike like but it's not cheating.

Just give the person a bad rep and no play list or kick them from the game.

Not to get all mothery on you but two wrongs don't make a right, you could say what you said about any form of cheating for example he used drugs to win the 100m so I will. I agree being unsportsmen like is notblack n white so I guess it depends on the server your playing (oh wait IW you got rid of that aspect). Cheating like the so called Javelin trick is kickable, whats the point of just cheating it back its not the spirit the game or any game is mean't to be played and takes any challenge away from it.

Reminds me of when I went into a COD 1 server a few years ago and the entire server had hacks and I was called a noob for not using one because hacks are cool and best hack wins is cool to play...so I was told .

anyway hacks/cheats are bad and all of that oh and never take sweets of a stranger

oh, I enjoy it, it's just kind of heartbreaking to have the AK-47 for all of an hour then having to give it up (along with the fall camo on my WA2000 and TAR-21)
