Modern Warfare2 General Thread

Played a bunch of multiplayer rounds on Xbox Live with a group of 6-7 friends today and ran into someone using the Javalin kamikaze thing almost every game. And at one point we ran into a clan of six, all of whom were using that tactic.

And we stomped them all badly, had a win streak of over 20 games. And me and my buddies aren't particularly good, but communication is key. Call out the kamikazes, maintain decent spacing between your team, do not bunch up, and use moderate range weapons.

Also, the glitch disarms itself when the person using it has to climb anything. It is just priceless to see the kamikaze running straight at you, let him climb that little barrier, then put a shotgun blast into his head at point blank range and walk away alive.

I haven't seen anyone using kamikaze end up with a >1 K/D ratio yet, so while it will be nice when it is gone, it isn't really deciding who wins and loses in my experience.

I play MW2 on the 360, have been since release day, and I'm yet to see this glitch in action. I know MS are handing out bannings for doing it now, which is why it's not being used on XBL so much, but even before the suspension threats I don't recall ever seeing it happen anywhere. Am I just lucky or something?

Probably. It's happening less now, but I've still seen it from time to time. I've also seen the infinite supply crate glitch as well.

The glitch I'm seeing the most of seems to involve causing a claymore to delay detonate, allowing guys to waltz past them unharmed.

The Scrambler Pro perk is supposed to delay claymore detonation. And I'm not sure, but I think I have run right over claymores when I have the Lightweight perk and a SMG equiped, the sheer speed of that combo will sometimes, very very rarely get me by the claymore if the angle and conditions are right. I'm not sure if I would call it a glitch though.

Picked up the last few peices of intel today to 100% the campaign. Took me fucking ages to find that craftily hidden peice of intel on the snow mobile section of "Cliffhanger". Have done it on Regular and Veteran now, and all I need to do is 3-star the Delta and Echo missions on Spec-Ops to finish that off. The Juggernaught missions look like they're going to be a bitch.

Ah! *lightbulb* Don't carry scrambler so I didn't realize. Had me wondering...

Not that I am defending the Mo-Mo's in the least bit but how is it cheating if you (or anyone else) can do the same thing right back?

Is it cheating if someone camps outside a spawn point and kills you when you re-spawn?

Is it cheating if someone finds a sweet sniper pit and kills you 100 times in a match?

At most I think it's very unsportsmanlike like but it's not cheating.

Just give the person a bad rep and no play list or kick them from the game.

Agreed. I have the class set up just in case anybody decided to pull that on me. And IW also placed all these easter eggs spots in the highrise and Afghan map. Are those cheaters for people who use them.

Coming from a person who has done his fair share of rage quitting and screaming at the TV. It is just a bloody game.

On a side note does anybody have any tips to grind out XP.. Bloody hell this level 70 is just pure BS. Ohh.. Just figured out how.. If anybody wants to help get tons of XP just add me. FonderTomato13.

I just wanted to address the stupid arguments that javelin 'tards are not cheating. First of all, if you go to the File Complaint screen it very clearly lists exploiting known or unknown glitches as being a cheat. Coming down hard on cheaters is part of what we're paying for when we shell out money on XBL Gold... You can't even argue that it was by design because they're preparing a patch to remove it, and of course it took millions of people playing for weeks before it was even discovered.

Anyone can do the Afghan rock glitch thing too. That doesn't mean it's fair and not cheating... Your argument is appalling in its stupidity.

The problem is anyone can file a complaint against you. I know people file complaints if they lose, just out of spite.

They like to say that they are monitoring everything, but there's only so much they can do without having thousands of people playing every game on Live.

I wonder if they have any stat tracking in play. Surely someone who files complaints every other game for no reason gets ignored... I wonder if they have any way of tracking the actual kills though... as in hmm, someone got killed, and got afterlife payback with a Javelin 7 times in a game, and 4 people filed complaints... pretty solid case there.

caught my first Javelin jerk today, he's allready banned cause I was playing with my Moderator friend

Anyone seen anything that looks like a knife glitch? Played some games on Saturday, and there seemed to be this team where a few of them were able to move so insanely fast and stab so far, that I'm wondering is it actually possible. One of us watched him on the kill cam to see his perks and whatnot, and tried out the same combination (with the correct perks having the same level of pro as him) and couldn't get the same results.

An example; I was watching one of my buddies from about 15-20 metres away, and then out of nowhere, this guy appears past me to knife him. I specify appear, since he wasn't anywhere in my vision before the knifing animation of him stabbing my teammate came up.

No, that's a legitimate build.

Marathon (Pro), Lightweight (Pro) and Commando (Pro) with the Tactical Knife attachment on a pistol. With this, you can move extremely fast and you have twice the melee range. The Tactical Knife also allows you to stab much faster.

I did that for a while to get my Commando perk challenge done and I still use it sometimes to capture points. It's was a fun way to get some fun out of the game because it changes the whole dynamics of the shooter - AND you have to work to get the Tactical Knife anyway (75 kills with the USP/M9 or 100 kills with the Magnum/Deagle).

Of course, it's possible there's a new glitch out there.

Well, there is the care package glitch. You hold the care package grenade and your movement speed becomes even faster.
