Is it possible that the new film has rejuvenated interested in both TOS and nuTOS? Perhaps the sales department might be willing to give it another shot, and if the book sells well, you might get your series. Is it not worth a shot?^The lack of interest in an ExM followup was a matter of sales, not editorial preference. I think Marco would've been happy to do more, but he couldn't convince the sales department that it would be profitable.
Still, I'm ready to do more if the opportunity ever arises.
Marco's doing editorial work on Star Trek Magazine now.
That was not my intention.Like I said, I'm willing if they are. But you seemed to be linking the lack of a followup to the former editorial regime, and that's just completely untrue.
Thanks for mentioning this, regardless of how you came upon the information...it's good to know who's in the editorial chair now.The magic name today is...... (sounds of drums....)I've still no idea who we're actually supposed to pitch stuff *to* nowadays...
Jaime Costas
She still seems rather busy setting things setup etc, but she is your woman!
Glad to hear Margaret is back for the SOTL as well!![]()
Pocket could easily hedge their bets and gamble on both sides of the TOS coin. Worst ways, your second post-TMP book doesn't sell well enough to warrant further books but you and the readers still win, even if Pocket doesn't. If it does sell well enough, everyone's a winner.
Second this.Marco's doing editorial work on Star Trek Magazine now.
Great news! Thanks for sharing.
There is nothing better than this. Nothing. My local paper had an engagement announcement a few years ago for a woman with the last name Swallows, marrying a fellow named Cox. True story, I swear.
In standard format, they printed her photograph, under the headline
SWALLOWS - COX
Whose panel, oddly enough, consisted only of Peter David and Harlan Ellison. And then there was the convention that advertised a retrospective on the works of Philip K. Dick with signs pointing the way to the "Dick Appreciation Panel."
