Modern Warfare2 General Thread

It's sad, but I did that Juggernaut mission solo with two controllers just to make sure it worked. :lol:

Assuming that the IW times are on regular, I still don't know how you could finish that map in the 3 minutes or whatever that they took. You basically have to know where they spawn and head shot them with the thumper when you first see them but before they shoot you. Guh.
 
I am playing single player, and love this game. Probably the best game to ever grace the Xbox. I shriek like a little girl as I go from Drone control, to shooting, to missle launching to blowing up buildings to resucing hostages to shooting from helicopters.

I LOVE IT!

I love how you're not farting around with med packs and ammo, or stupid save points that take you back 10 minutes. It's just play, play play. FUN FUN FUN!

Oh man I'm on a gaming high right now.

Wait until you get Chopper Gunner on multi-player. Tight.
 
One thing I'm finding out about this game that's really irritating me, and I know it's probably because of lag, but it's what I call the "out of synch perspective." And by that I mean, on SEVERAL deaths, when watching the kill cam, where my screen shows I'm at and where the killer's screen shows I'm at are very often two different places. For example, from my perspective, I'm clearly around the corner under cover, but when I die and watch the kill cam, the shooter sees me as being out in the open.

It's really annoying.
 
The round the corner death thing happens to me all the time... very frustrating. I miss my dedicated servers from my CoD1 days on PC... this peer-to-peer nonsense sucks, but I guess I understand where they're coming from. They need to support millions of players online. I don't think I've ever been host though... with UPnP my NAT type would start at open and turn into moderate, even got a failed host migration during a game... I forwarded the ports I need outright and it seems to be Open NAT full time now. I'm looking forward to getting to be host sometime and not having to deal with lag.

Oh, and sadly I've been playing with my M16 for a while now, and even with stopping power and FMJ I'm just not getting that many 3-round burst kills... Still nice and accurate though.
 
Must be lag-I haven't noticed that at all.

Actually had the issue in MW1 too, but it seems even worse this time around. For a player like me, who sucks anyway, it's really frustrating to have to battle lag and the other team.

Oh and my creative ways to die continues. Sunday I died from apparently what was a "care package" dropping on me.:rolleyes:
 
I'm having a problem with the dogs on the Monte Cristo level of the Spec Ops.
When attacked by a dog, I hit the "B" button to melee, but got killed by it, and it said I was doing it too early, and to wait for the hint to show. So I do that, when attacked, wait that 1/2 second for the "B" to show onscreen and I hit "B".
That has mostly worked, but sometimes even when I hit B when it says to hit B, the dog still gets me. Very frustrating. Am I waiting too long? not long enough? I'm very sure I don't hit the button til the hint shows, like it said to do.

I'm not either-unless it is a head shot. I've been using a silencer, though, and they drop right away. Go figure.

I have had this happen. My favorite? Threw grenade through a window on 2cnd floor of Scrapyard, ran in and grenade rolled off catwalk and landed at my feet. BOOM! Pushing up daisies.

He's probably playing on PC.
It is timing based, but I'm not sure when the best time is. I think it's a little after they jump on you and get ready to bite you though.
 
Me "1000'ing" the game. :lol:

That just means I got all the achievements in the 360 version, which pretty much means beating the single player and spec ops on veteran and getting all the collectable junk (and the few special game play based achievements).

Here's how I deal with the dogs. grab the claymores. And when you hear dogs come, plant them in the direction of the dogs. Usually one in front and one behind. Manoveur, so that the dogs hit the claymores so you don't have to do that stupid B real time event.
 
Just beat single player. It was fun but ultimately less satisfying than the first game. The story seemed kind of all over the place and there didn't seem to be as much continuity between the levels. The story didn't seem to live up to the enormity of the settings. Also, not having a gunship mission was a big disappointment for me. The predator drones are nice, but nowhere near as fun as the gunship level. I was really hoping they'd up the ante on this front, instead we got the rather simple abusive predator mechanic. Urban rio was way too short, literally about 20 seconds before you end up in the favelas for the rest of the time. Overall the game felt too short.
 
Addicted to the MP aspect of the game.

Single player was way too short, and special ops rediculously hard to play on your own, but MP is where this game works the best.

My TV is in serious need of an adjustment on the brightness/contrast controls (I'm thinking about a new TV anyway). The reason I said this, is I watched myself being killed on the killcam, and I couldn't even see me from the shooter's point of view, my character just blended into the background on my TV, but obviously the shooter saw me just fine.

So if it isn't one thing, it's another. Sucky abilities, lag, and now the TV. :lol: And no I'm not blaming the TV for my suckage but I'm starting to realize why I'm having such a hard time seeing people now.

I got my 47" HD TV and my hit percentage in WAW jumped 4%, my K/D jumped about 2%(a freakin miracle after all of the games I'd played) and I stopped losing close games. Don't forget to adjust the in-game brightness, too.

Well one would think with a 52 inch screen I would be able to see very well, but I really struggle with it. Perhaps I need to turn the brightness down and not up and maybe that would give me a better contrast.
