Post of photo of your office or workspace! What are your working digs?

Re: Post of photo of your office or workspace! What are your working d

Is there some kind of dorm furniture wholesale store? I had the exact same furniture in college.

:guffaw: Our dorm was renovated two years ago and this was the "new" furniture. Perhaps we got it second hand.

Of course a dorm furniture wholesale store would fit too.

Re: Post of photo of your office or workspace! What are your working d

Well, I was in the dorms only about 4 years ago, so it's not a huge amount of time.

As I recall, our furniture was brand new then, too.

Same store fits then. :bolian: They didn't even get enough for the whole building. The first floor has all new furniture, the second floor has a mix of old and new, the third floor has all old stuff. I'm on the first floor. :)

I had the same style of furniture (with the flip-down lid on the slide-out keyboard tray) when I was in college a decade ago. There must be some company that churns these things out for dorm furnishing...since nobody else would in their right mind want to buy furniture like that. ;)

There is. Actually, there are several. Dorm/Office/Hospital/Motel/etc furnishing specialists that are good at cranking out cheap, durable, fairly risk-free, inoffensively bland furniture. I remember glancing through one of these companies catalogues when a ward was getting refurb'ed a while back. I think my brain melted from the lack of stimulation by the fifth page... :D

And with a finish that isn't marred by disinfectants...

The finish is its own disinfectant.

Even germs have better taste than to linger on such ugly furniture for long.

I'm not allowed to take pictures inside company premises but then it's like any other office.. desks, computers, shelves and cupboards for binders and other stuff.. pretty boring.

However i have a real great dislike to the cubicle offices some of you work in.. first i hate mass offices with 20 or more cubicles and i feel kind of isolated in one. I like to chat with my coworkers at work and 2-3 people in one larger room is really fine with me.

I'm not important enough to have an office of my own but then i'd be alone most of the time and it would be too quiet.

I'm pretty sure the constant stream of alcohol that gets spilled on them serves as a decent disinfectant as well.

Finally got a picture of my home "office." Yes, it's all cobbled together.

Needs more monitors.

Re: Post of photo of your office or workspace! What are your working d

I haven't been into the office since September (working from home since then), so pics will have to wait until I get in there again. But I have a 16 foot by 20 foot private office. When we first moved in there I shared the space with my administrative assistant and racks of media and printed material. When we switched over to internet distribution the racks (and the AA) disappeared, leaving me alone in there. I filled the space with an eight foot oval conference table and hung a four foot by eight foot white board on the wall behind it. Now we use it for development meetings.

I'm a little late to this party, but here are three shots of my workspace...it is the most exposed station in the whole office, making it very difficult to actually get work done because people are constantly approaching me. And yes, I made the pipecleaner Enterprise under my primary monitor.
