What to do with an empty wall?

Dude, christmas tree lights? I mean...really, Christmas tree lights ~shakes head~

Hey! They're awesome.

The real story behind the lights:

I have some lamps, but I don't have any tables to put them on, so they were sitting on the floor. I also didn't like the way they cast light in the apartment. It was almost always too bright.

I love the look of Christmas lights. They give the room ambience. Now, do I wish that they were better-looking? Do I wish that you couldn't see the green cord wrapping around the room? Yes, yes I do. But I like the lighting enough to make that sacrifice. I live alone. I don't need this place to be too classy.

You could get the white corded Christmas lights. That would make them "invisible" in a sense, or at least harder to see the cord.

We need to make sure K'ehlyer sees this thread. She loves those little white strands of lights, and this will warm the cockles of her heart.

We have this bar thing which is pricey but we completely love it. I've seen versions at almost every store, including Target, and it's about half the price there. You might be interested in something like that with a framed poster above.

They didn't have any when I went to the store, and I was impatient and didn't feel like going to other stores. Believe me, I would have preferred a white cord.

Believe it or not, I actually thought of her while I was buying them!

Actually that's not a bad ideal. A nice bar-cabinet-set and a good but subdued sound-system for when entertaining "guests",

The case that my TV is on actually has a set of shelves that sit on top of it. I used that as a mini bar in my old apartment when I had a different TV stand.

That flat screen TV you have would be nice mounted on the wall. We've got one mounted and its great.

I stumbled into an art shop while away for a weekend in Maine a couple weeks back. I expected to window shop, but they were going out of business, and were selling original oil paintings, with choice of frame, for about 2/3 off. Picked up 3 nice ones for under $200. Art work always adds a touch of class.

I've also blown out some really nice photos from trips I've been on, a scenic lake or mountain or something.

I'm kind of weird when it comes to artwork. Star Trek poster notwithstanding, I prefer art that either I or my friends have made themselves, rather than store-bought art.

Thank you JustKate, my cockles are warmed, as will anyone elses who invites fairy lights into their life! I am so happy

And you're absolutely right RoJo ~ ambience is the key and thank you for thinking of me

It looks OK already, don't look for something to fill the space ~ it will find you! [sits crossed legged with thumb and middle finger together and ummmmmmms]

... something is coming through ~ girls like fairy lights, I predict you could get lucky this weekend ;)

I should make pants out of fairy lights and see if girls are attracted to them.

Refers you to the 'scorching thread' ~ well would if she knew how... 'So I hit it with a hammer' Page 2, #23 on!
But good luck with that.
At least they'll see you coming ;)

Ya bro, what happened with the traffic barrel? That was awesome.
I know, it was awesome. I gave it back to its proper owner when I moved. My friend and I built it together, but it technically belonged to her. I had just been holding it (for 4 frickin' years) until she moved into a place that had room for it.

I kind of miss it.

Okay, here is the wall in question:

A view from the couch:

It would actually be the perfect spot for a desk or a bookcase, but I already have one of each on the wall behind the couch.

I really like it. But should you paint the wall? It would match your personality?

Before I move in, I'm going to painting to make it darker, due to HDTV.

I'm getting 50 inches of HDTV, I think. It will take about 72-77 months for me to paid the full for rent that HDTV.
