On Tuesday, which version of ST:XI will you buy?

ROJO, thanks! Walmart had an IMAX edition? I didn't know the general public even had the capability to play an IMAX edition on home tvs.

I'm getting the basic $10 version until I can afford a BD player and a bigger HD set (using a 22" monitor right now that displays in 1080p).

Stupid question alert!!

Does the BD 3-disc set (or any BD set) come with a standard DVD version of the film? I know it has the digital version but I don't have a BD player yet and wish to be able to view it on my standard DVD player in both my home and my van. If it doesn't, I'm stuck buying the cheapo $10 single DVD version until I can afford a BD player.

Please advise...

No, it doesn't.

Well, the IMAX version of the film was about a minute or so longer and had a few sequences in IMAX (parts of the forest battle and the desert battle, and possibly more). So the Walmart edition was this longer cut that switched back and forth to the fuller frame of the IMAX sequences.

It's like how the home video release of "The Dark Knight" had the IMAX scenes. It's just that for "Transformers 2" they decided to make it a Walmart exclusive.

I'm thinking of purchasing the Target blu-ray version that comes with the Enterprise model. However, does anyone know if it comes with a standard disc case as well? I'd like the model only to assemble and display, NOT to hold the discs in.

BD video quality is superior, by far. With even marginal hook-ups to an HD TV screen you will still be blown away by the difference.

I'll be getting the standard DVD. I'll upgrade to the "super deluxe neural download edition" when it comes out in 10 years...

FYI, the Target exlusive BD is $5 cheaper on Target.com than it is in the ad for next week ($24.99 vs. $29.99). The DVD is the same price. Target.com charges $2.99 shipping, but it still comes out a little cheaper for those who don't want to bother with going to the store.

I suspect that it does not.

Since I need both arms and legs and can't afford to offer them on the black market for blu-ray capability, I'll be going with the two disk version. ;)

In 2019 when Holo-Ray comes out & Blu-Ray players prices drop to $24.99, I will definitely upgrade to BD.;);)

I just bought a spare BD player for $90 a couple weeks ago, so they aren't that expensive.

Standard 2-disc DVD for me, courtesy of Amazon.com and the nice Amazon gift card that paid for it.
