I know that.
We all have pretty much what we want. After all, if I really didn't want to live where I live and do what I do, why did I do all of those things that got me to where I am? Why didn't I do something different?
There's always Delta, Amtrak and Greyhound; there isn't ever anything stopping you from just packing a few clothes and never being seen again. The reason you don't do that is because even if you rant and rave about how much you hate what is happening, in the end you like what you have better than something else.
Bottom line. Either love it, or leave it; but whatever you do, don't spend your life whining about how wretched everything and everybody is. It is a free world. Your grandmother doesn't own it, or you.

You really overreacted on this one. Part of the deal when living with relatives is putting up with this kind of shit.
Really part of being human is putting up with other peoples shit. Unless one is a hermit shut off...well from everything and everyone, there's always people bullshit to put up with. Co-workers, family, neighbors, customers, there's always something.
I don't know. It just seems to me that there are probably other stuff about his home situtation that made him vent about his grandmother's request. Most if not all of us most certainly snapped over a little thing because of being stressed about stuff on top of that one little thing time to time. I know I have, even though I knew it was nothing. Besides, he didn't sound that upset to me. I have seen worse rants than that here in Misc.
He's been bitching about his grandmother for months, usually about how she "threatens him," whatever that means. This particular rant is just...meh. Definitely not worth starting a thread over unless there was a lot else going on.

Which does show my point. Yes, I'm very well aware of his bitching. It set off a chain of PMs between me and another poster last summer. I admit his motives and goals are questionable not to mention his grammar skills. But I don't get the grief over the online thing. Who hasn't snapped over a little things because of bigger issues. Sure, it's...meh. But the Misc is full of pointless threads. *shrugs*

Last year I lived at home for eight months after my father died. My mother, a habitual lottery player, was ecstatic when she found out I could look on line for the wining numbers 5 minutes after the drawing. As much as we like to make fun of my mother's adamant belief that she is going to win the lottery the two minutes out of my day that took to make her happy wasn't that big of a deal.
