Tired of being used by my grandmother!

Earlier today, my grandmother was in fantasy world and went to asking me to go to Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes' site, my face is boiling mad. The reason why she's asking me to do there, because she was watching Oprah show today, she thought that it's her opportunity to win that BIG prize!

For love of god, I'm tired of being interrupting by her each time I'm trying to accomplish something wonderful in my life.

Earlier tonight, my grandmother asked me that question again, she thought that I didn't want to be part of it, but told her that I'm very tired from cleaning around in the house and wants to watching baseball game, she told me that she doesn't care at all.

I warned her that she's not going to win this prize. Her first reaction was: "Who told you this?" Her annoying question got my blood boiling mad! :scream:

Finally, I fed up and told her that that's enough. She approached me with threatening warning that she's going to calling my estranged mother to coming here to get me. I'm really fed up with her for threatening me all along for being using me to do something for her.

So, you of all people, what should I do to telling her all this? Should I just playing along to make her happy?

You might have anger issues if you won't enter your grandmother in a contest. You know how old people are with the new-fangled internet.

I thought you were moving out.

Also, just based on this story, it seems like you over-reacted. She asked you to check something online, and you got angry?

No. I haven't moved out yet. Anyways, no, I'm not over-reacted, it's just that it's pointless to check something online, but why drag me all this to winning the big prize? I believe that PCH is scam, end of story.

And? Other than a few seconds or minutes out of your day, what did it hurt you? It's nothing, certainly nothing to boil over about.

If it is your grandmother's place - her rules.

It probably took up more energy arguing that you did not want to put her in the contest than if you had simply done this little something for her.

My sons asked me to do lots of things online for them (looking for things on eBay, topping up their bus cards, buying tickets etc) and I don't resent it.

I have a friend who rings me up and asks me to check bus timetables, cinema times, movie reviews, movie trivia, DVD release dates, lotto numbers etc.

But I don't like being used, that's all.

It was nothing, she asked you check something. Certainly nothing to get out of sorts about. After all, how are you going to live on your own if you can't deal with little annoyances like this? Or be a professional writer, which is pretty much a business that runs on people using you when you first start out.

That's what I'm trying to be doing now. The reason why I can't move out, because I have female person to introduce me this plan for the apartment living coming next week, it's going to be for a while before we're heading our way out to my new home.

Hey, I can deal with little annoyance all right, but not like this, I need quiet life, you know?

I'm guessing there's a lot more to this than just checking online.

Wait, you're moving in with some girl?

I'm confused.

We're all confused. Horribly, horribly confused. :(

No. I'm not. I have to meet her to form the apartment plan to live on my own. Of course, money arrangement as well.

Dude, just remember: Landlord is not Grandma. Meaning you blow up on them, or you don't abide the rules, you're ass will be out on the sidewalk.

Are you pulling my leg, man? I'm trying to explaining that I have lady friend that going to help me coming next week to find my new home, how can you said that my grandmother is landlord and that if I don't abide the rides, my ass will be out on the sidewalk? :wtf:

Are you tripping or something?

A landlord is not your grandmother. When you rent an apartment there is a set of rules, a legally biding contract, that you and they [the lanlord] are required to abide by. Unlike your grandma that likely, for all your claimed barking, wouldn't do anything to hurt you. A landlord couldn't give two shits about you if you break your renter's agreement.

And for annoying: Yeah, neighbors can't be great, but some of them are as bad or worse than your grandmother when it comes to being annoying, And you can't blow up on them.
