Uncharted 2 is crazy brilliant amazing [insert gush]

since it was mentioned, don't get Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition on the ps3 at the minute, its very buggy and locks up the ps3 when playing the new content a lot  not sure if it happens on the DLC from the psn store

edit: Loving uncharted 2, its so slick, from the voice acting to the gameplay, the hotel level was amazing

I think the problem is that the GOTY is a different version than the patched version of Fallout 3 "original". Big whoops.

Bethesda are just a technical mess, on PS3, 360 and PC. I just hope some of that id magic rubs off and they stop using Gamebryo and switch to id Tech 5.

^ Do yourself a favour and don't give up on the game. I can definitely see how the first couple of chapters could be a bit... tedious to some players. Things definitely pick up after Istanbul.

I took your advice and it definitely has grown on me. You know, generally I couldn't care less about the story of any given video game, just let me play is my motto. But I have to admit, for the first time, a video game story has really drawn me in. It's like playing a movie.

What is the basics of the stories for these games anyways? The idea simply of a treasure-hunter just didn't appeal to me.

^ I didn't find the final boss battle all that hard. I just kept running around, and then turning and shooting every once in a while.

And what do you mean it makes the first one unplayable?

It took me 4-5 attempts to take down the boss. I totally had him on the 2nd to last attempt but Drake got stuck in a root (poorly timed clipping error, ugh!) and I couldn't move and got rocked by the boss, haha.

I just started the game and have to ask... if Drake doesn't want to kill any of the guards during the break-in, what's with throwing one off the rooftop to his death?

There's a guy above you... there's a guy above you.

On hard the moment he got to throwing four grenades, I was kind of screwed. It doesn't help that you have to restart the whole battle over again every time you die. I just gave up and did that exploit because I hate gimmicky boss battles.
I'm going to do a Crushing run eventually and there's no way I'll have the patience to do it legitimately.

And the first one... it's so improved. Beyond the graphics, you can usually tell which rocks you can climb up, the bad guys don't come in groups of like 30 and your guns are actually effective. Also, no jetski sections. :p

I'd almost pay for them to redo Uncharted 1 with the improvements in Uncharted 2 in mind, actually.

It's over! Why does it have to end? :scream:

That was without a doubt one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. This game took everything that was great about the first one and dialed it all up to 11. Nathan Drake is probably one of my favorite video game protagonists of all time.

Here's hoping we'll see Uncharted 3 sooner rather than later! :techman:

It's interesting because I'm mixed on the game. I really enjoy the presentation and I think it'd be great as a movie... but that's basically covering the fact that it is a series of arena battles with AI that's geared to flank.

The multiplayer is pretty engaging though... but the fact that co-op games still log out if the host quits is very, very frustrating.

Yeah that's pretty much what I'm discovering about this game. Climb around on stuff for awhile, then have a big gun battle. Rinse and repeat.

I mean it's well done and it's fun enough, but I'm still not convinced that this is the "greateast game evah" that some people would lead you to believe. I don't find myself rushing home to play it, or not being able to put it down when I do play it.

That's the problem with big games. The reviews seem to overcompensate and suddenly the game becomes the best thing ever.

I will say that, as a package, it's great. Just the single player game is kind of lacking.
