The Supplement Thread

We don't have a whole lot of discussion about supplements in this neck of the woods, so I figured I'd start a thread. What supps are you taking? Do you have any recommended supps for specific fitness goals?

Over the last couple months I've been experimenting with Nitric Oxide supplements. They give me a great pump in the gym and help me maintain my energy level for longer workouts. I've also been taking L-Argenine for the same reason.

Plus I also take CLA, Multivitamins, Glucosomine, ZMA, protein, flaxseed caps, and recently when I feel I need to I take Apatrim.

I took ZMA for a while. It helped me sleep, but it made it nearly impossible for me to wake up.

As for multivitamins, I take Animal Pak. It makes my pee neon green, but it makes me feel generally healthier. I definitely feel it if I accidentally miss a couple days.

I have an Omega-3 supplement that I take in addition to Flaxseed Caps. For a while I was buying bulk flaxseed powder and mixing it with my protein shakes, but I haven't seen that in any other grocery stores.

I need to get me some Glucosomine. I used to take the stuff, and then I just kind of stopped one day.... I think I forgot to buy it one day, and then I just forgot about it entirely. But I definitely noticed a difference when I was takin it.

It gets pricey, stick with the ones you know work and that you have liked. There's a new joint support formula that's better than glucosomine alone, its called Flexamin.
