And? Kids are apt to lie, even to cops-- more so to cops if they think the hammer is about to fall hard on them.

^^Not even the family, just the kids being kids, things got out of hand, and surprise like kids will do, they covered their own asses till things go to hot for them.

The family is on CNN right now, they're interview them about what's happening today.
Wow; an interesting thread! I won't point any fingers, but I can't help noticing that the family has everything to gain from this. After spending a bunch of time and exerting effort to make a homemade balloon, there isn't anything quite as rewarding as seeing it on CNN. Lucky coincidence? Maybe. In any case, it gave media news something interesting to cover, and nobody got hurt, so cheers.
I have decided I like you much better outside of the Stargate forum.
