Karl Urban -- blond or brunet?

You know what would be cool as a story - rather than kidnapping him, if the Klingons were to ask McCoy for his help. He would definitely say yes - as a doctor, but then Fleet would turn round and say, 'no you can't. They're our enemy.'

I would love a scenario that puts McCoy out on his own because of his sense of honour. Plus showing us the dangerous side of McCoy that I always think of when I see the Trek poster:

Oh that's lovely! Captures his broody eyes - hrd to decide if it's his eyes or his mouth that are so compelling. BOTH of course!

I wish that shot of Karl/McCoy had been used more often in the advertising for the film.

I wanted it on a t-shirt! I'd get a regular size then an x-large so I could sleep with the good doctor...

You know, I'm sure there is someone here who could do that. In fact, i am pretty sure there is a special program that comes with t-shirt decal type things that enables you to make your own tee shirts! I love the idea of being able to sleep with Karl, (well for me, Pine)....make it so!

And the best thing about it? It was more subtle than the shots of Spock or Nero. You had to know who Karl Urban was and that he was Bones in the new TREK movie to really get the visual reference. It'd have made a badass, conversation-starting T-shirt!

I already sleep with the Captain; I wouldn't discriminate against the Doctor either, if he got a shirt.

I wanted to sleep with Robau, but had to make do with his ship on a shirt.

I love Karl's shit eaten grin in that last pic from the gag reel. What a hoot!
Yeah, that grin is what made me decide to do the caps in the first place -- I figured a few people around here wouldn't mind seeing it.

For two or three months, at least, that was the only picture we had of McCoy, and it got used a lot. It came out first on the second set of posters -- the ones that were available at VegasCon in August 2008.

Karl's McCoy should get involved with/abducted by Klingons in the next movie...maybe he has to do something for them to cure a disease or medical problem that their own imperial physicians can't tackle and solve so McCoy is held hostage?

Like i posited...a hostage scenario where the Empire needs a trained Starfleet doctor to help them cure or treat something. And worst of all, it happens as Federation and Qo'noS are on verge of war/conflict.

These quotes got me thinking of an episode - but not the TOS but the TAS... had to look it up but it was the "Albatross" story that came to mind.

Hey, thanks for those EP! - I went looking online a while ago for pics from Supanova but couldn't find any.

(EDIT: of course, if I'd just gone to karlurbanonline rather than Supanova's sites I probably would have been more successful )

I missed some of the earliest posters unfortunately. I didnt see a few of them and consequently didn't get to see Karl's profile shot as often as some did.

^ I think the same image was incorporated into those giant free-standing "Star Trek" signs which appeared in some theater lobbies in the last weeks before the movie went into general release.
