Not in my book, you didn't. While she has some passably decent music out there, I'll reserve judgment until she's been around for a decade or so and proven she has staying power. Otherwise, its just another pop singer that caught the public's eye.
She's a terrible musician and a whore. I don't even need Wikipedia to tell me that.

I totally disagree with almost all of the above posters who are so quick to dismiss her. I firmly believe she could be the next Madonna. She's an incredibly talented musician, has paid her dues and worked hard to get where she is now, and has a brilliant artistic flair that couples her music with performance art and always leaves me with anticipation for what she'll do next. Her performance at the VMA awards was controversial and left me with chills.
As long as she can release a solid second album, and continues reinventing herself to stay relevant, as Madonna has done for 30 years, I can easily see her staying around for just as long.

She makes halfway catchy pop music. That's about it.
Yes, if she can stay relevant for the next 30 years, then she will be the next Madonna. That's a pretty big "if" there. The history of pop music is littered with the corpses of pop acts who made one successful album and then completely bombed out on their second try. Just examine the list of people who have won the Best New Artist Grammy.
As of right now, I think she's just the flavor of the month. She will be talked about incessantly for a year or so, but when the hits stop coming, people will forget she exists.

The way she dresses makes me think she needs theropy or something. It's quite weird.
I like her music, it's spunky and fun. It ain't Springsteen but I enjoy it.
