You don't need to apologise. I'm sure they're perfectly okay with their opinion.thank goodness there is someone else that loves the design of the bridge I think it looks modern and stunning sorry if there is anyone that doesn't like it.

It also surprised me that Uhura blew her way onto the Enterprise. That reduction of her character was pretty hard to take.
What does one have to do with the other? It also surprised me that Uhura blew her way onto the Enterprise. That reduction of her character was pretty hard to take.
As opposed to Nichelle Nichols who more or less "blew her way" to an acting role?

I'm not sure if we're watching the same movie here. I saw the one where Uhura is probably the most important of the original supporting cast, moreso even than McCoy. Certainly she has way more relevance to characters and plot than either Sulu or Chekov, who are little more than ciphers on the bridge (in fairness, this is their usual role).I'm so tired of people complaining about Uhura in this movie. She got at least as much to do in the movie as Sulu or Checkov (they were all only supporting characters after all), and she was just as tough, if not MORE so, than the original.
Not a thing, other than that both have the look of having been posted with an aim to annoy.![]()

Example? Both Chekov and Sulu actually use their station consoles to get things done AND they did other extra stuff (Chekov using the transporter, Sulu fighting Romulans on the drill). What does Uhura do at her comms station that aids the crew?
Why?
Am I? Perhaps something is getting lost in translation, then. What, precisely, did you mean when you said:Not a thing, other than that both have the look of having been posted with an aim to annoy.![]()
Dude, this thread is about "things that really took you by surprise", and I posted what took me by surprise. Don't jump to conclusions so damn easily.
...Uhura blew her way onto the Enterprise.
uhura put forth a logical arguement that she had earned her place on enterprise. she even cited examples of this.
