Dry cell? I briefly looked into those when getting a new battery for my Focus, but wound up getting a generic lead-acid (all of which are made by Johnson Controls or Exide).

They call them "spiral wound gel cell batteries". The Early Ford V8 club recommends them due to their high cold cranking amperage (800), the ability to hold a deep charge for a long period of disuse, and they don't leak or cause corrosion like traditional auto batteries.
Now I'm looking for a battery case that I can put the Optima in so that it looks like a stock battery is present. Although with the battery under the driver's side floorboard, I don't know how many people will see it.

I did something very stupid... very very stupid. 
I went into Toys R Us last week to pick up a communicator for my Halloween costume and found Hasbro's new version of the Millennium Falcon. Needless to say I was awestruck. This things is HUGE and very detailed. I probably stood for fifteen minutes staring at the box. I noticed that one of the sales people kept coming over, stopping about halfway, changing their minds and walking away. It must have been either the drool or the glassy eyed stare that scared them. 
Anyway, I could not stop thinking about this toy. (I also couldn't stop thinking about the price tag either.) I had always wanted one when I was a kid. I remember sitting behind the sofa in the den pouring over the Sears Christmas Catalog and lusting after her when I was seven/eight/nine/ten. Sadly Santa never left one. I had all the action figures though. I even had an X-wing. But the great MF never made it under the tree.
So now, after twenty-five years, I have completely lost my mind and decided to burn a lot of money... and I mean a lot of money. And I am now the proud owner of "The Legacy Collection" Millennium Falcon. She is even better than I could have imagined too! The box did not do her justice. She has tons of sounds, lights and all kinds of working parts. There are thirteen different buttons and switches hidden all over the outside of this thing. The boarding ramp opens by itself and includes lights and sounds. The cockpit has its own lights. There are storage areas, working doors, a mini-fighter (just like on the old version), spring loaded missiles, working head lamps, smuggling compartments, laser cannon seat, light-up Dejarik table, medical bay and the engines light up. This thing is AWESOME.
I placed the DVD case next to her for scale. We are talking over 2 1/2 feet long!

I do have a few minor quibbles. The ship is not really to scale (she should be about a foot longer) and the landing gears keep popping off. But I can live with those things. The other features make up for it in spades. Oh and if you have limited space, this is not something I would recommend buying. I am still not sure what to do with her. It may end up being stored under the bed because I have no place to display the behemoth.
I will not be buying anything else for a while... except the fifth season of Mary Tyler Moore coming out 10/06. Other than that I am not allowed anything else until November.
