I think Charlie is dead and the chick stole his face.

I still think Oliva never left the other side...

And maybe this is her dupe? The thought had crossed my mind.

well the other olivia wouldnt have known peter.

but yeah i have issues with how the assasin did what they did with charlie so fast.
and no on thought to ask to look in his mouth considering he had been alone with it and so far bullets seemed to have been ineffective.

a real make the characters look stupid moment there.,

Anyone find it disgusting that they were cooking next to a dead body that had been cracked open for autopsy? Or that Walter was eating a licorice that he was holding with his used surgical glove? Or that he stuck his bloody glove finger into the batter?

So what are the chances that Shapeshifter Charlie will get killed by Mirror Universe Scar Charlie (who is missing a goatee)? And thus he's still on the show even after two deaths! :)

What, this is the first time you've noticed that from Walter?

Is Astrid in the FBI or some sort of contractor or professional staff?
She was a FBI Agent assigned to the Fringe Division. Although she described herself as Agent Dunham's assistant her daily assignment was to be Walter's lab assistant. TPTB may have dropped her agent status despite the many doctor/special agents on many shows.

Anybody else hate the new opening with the narrative?

And when did they become Fringe Unit?

I may have been hearing things but was there also a mention of an X-Files unit in the sub-commitee hearing?

Yes, there was a definite subtle-but-obvious reference to the old "X-designation" files.

I'm also unaware of when they became known as the "Fringe Unit." They simply didn't have a name previously, and certainly not one any of the mains knew about. Seems to be a whole new invention for this season and they're acting as if its always been that way. Kinda lame, but not deal breaking.

The Observer walked by the accident scene as the camera pulled back and up to show the "Manhattan, New York" placard.

I'm not thrilled with the jump between the finale and this episode. Also, I like Jesup(sp), but hate what she represents. Studio execs replacing a male character with a(nother) hot female to pull in the drooling caveman demographic.

Well, that's Fringe for you.
Perfectly normal on this show.

Fringe Division couldn't possible cost that much... They don't even have that many people.

Real world the word would go out to cut cost. Meaning get out of drug enforcement since the DEA also does it. Bomb investigations since the ATF is there already etc. However the directors don't want to give that stuff up so the send congress the X-Files and Fringe Unit to be deleted.
