The Art of "Battlestar Urantia"

jamestyler,

Thanks. The stories/destinies of the Galactica's D'anna, and Urantia's D'anna are different, so you don't really have to worry about being spoiled.

kaisernathan1701,

Aye, I was also surprised, when I found it was Florence Henderson. :) It's been a long time since "The Brady Bunch", but IMO, she's still got it.

Here's another image...

This is the "splash" page that will appear at the very beginning of the FINAL version of the story, and kind of sums up what the very basic plot is about.

I was just surprised by the timing coincidence. And it's a brilliant picture. I wish I was still able to make them.

With the pace I'm running through the series, I'll be reading the Urantia thread in FF before Halloween.

backstept,

LOL... looks okay to me, but if you say so, lol.

jamestyler,

Great... I very much look forward to hearing what your opinion is of "Battlestar Urantia", once you've read it!

Very Nice... :) :techman:

All of that artwork is excellent. Truly beautiful.

My only nit to pick is that Urantia evokes images of pee for some reason!

Chaos Descending
,

Thanks for the nice words about the artwork. :)

You know... you are the first person to provide me ANY kind of feedback on the name Urantia, which is surprising to me, because so far, nobody has asked me where I got it, or what it means, lol.

The name Urantia comes from "The Urantia Book", the details of which can be found here:

http://www.urantia.org/

I am NOT affiliated with the group or the book in ANY way, but when I saw the name, I chose it, because I felt it had what I needed...

Too often, BSG fans make up Battlestars, and use typical mythology names, or name them after WoW types of things. I did not want that, in any way... I wanted something that had a new and original sound... that you would believe it was something that could be a word or name from Caprica, or one of the Twelve Colonies... it had to sound new. It also had to have that "antia" or "actica" sound, like the Atlantia, or Galactica, so that it would fit. When I saw the word Urantia, I knew I had a fit.

So far, here are the Battlestars that have been either seen or mentioned, in the "Battlestar Urantia" story...

- Urantia (Hero ship)

- Pegasus (Debris found in orbit of New Caprica)

- Galactica (Spotted from one of Pegasus's flight records)

- Celestia (Destroyed during Cylon attack on 12 Colonies)

- Zodacia (Destroyed during Cylon attack on 12 Colonies)

- Colonia (Destroyed during First Cylon War)

- Hyperion (Destroyed during First Cylon War)

In addition to these Battlestars, ONE Colonial armory was seen, in the story, the Vallahar Repository.
