all time favorite TV scenes

From ST: The Next Generation
All Good Things, pt. 2, the final scene, in which the crew plays cards. A great way to end the series: "The sky is the limit".

From Buffy:
The last scene of the episode "Lessons": It had a great montage of all the bad guys in "Buffy". Spike saw how the First Evil "morphed" into the master, the mayor, Glory and finally Buffy herself. I loved that. Unfortunately I couldn't find a link.

From Angel
Cordelia's goodbye in "You're welcome".

From Battlestar Galactica: [Spoilers!]

I don't remember the episode-title. It's the scene in which Laura becomes aware of the fact that she loves Adama. She is with Baltar on board of a Cylon ship and doesn't make it back in time to meet with the fleet, so Adama stays behind to make sure she's okay. And when they finally meet she says: "I love you" and his response is:"About time." At least I remember it that way. *sigh*

Eh, one of my links up there was wrong! Just for the record:

This is round two.

Ignore the stupid music at the start. This is the most complete version of the scene I could find on YouTube. :p

And here's round three - sorry for the poor quality. :wtf: And the fact that they edited out the best part!!! (Dex gets the upper hand.)

Buffy
  • Angel admits he's jealous of Xander and Buffy offers to walk him home at the end of "Some Assembly Required."
  • Angel sitting at Buffy's bedside while waiting for the antedote to work in "Earshot."
  • Angel and Buffy's dance in "The Prom."
  • Buffy and Faith raising hell, then partying at the Bronze in "Bad Girls."
  • Buffy's fight scene with the big bad in "Graduation Part 2."
  • Oz and Willow waiting for their host to arrive at the career day fair in "What's My Line? Part 1."
  • Angelus stalking Jenny in "Passion."
Angel
  • Angel finding Buffy at the pier and kissing her in "I'll Remember You."
  • Numfar doing the dance of joy in "Through the Looking Glass."
Supernatural
  • Dean offering to end Madison's life for Sam and Sam refusing in "Heart."
  • Castiel releasing Claire and repossessing Jimmy in "The Rapture."
  • Bobby's reaction to Dean after he's rescued from hell in "Lazarus Rising."
  • Sam and Dean discovering the Supernatural fandom in "The Monster at the End of This Book."
  • Sam holding Ruby while Dean drives the special knife into her in "Lucifer Rising."
La Femme Nikita
Michael stalking and making short work of an intruder into Section One in "I Remember Paris."

So many hours of TV, so many great scenes.

I think the ones that really stand out are the ones that get to me after repeated viewings. Margaret's "Lousy cup of coffee" speech in MASH or Radar's telling them about Henry's death. Jake Sisko telling his father "it's OK" in The Visitor. John telling Aeryn he named a star for her on Farscape. Sinclair's speech about "one day the Sun will burn out..."
Dietrich on Barney Miller telling the guy with the "foolproof" lie detector that he was an alien.

The snipe hunt scene from Cheers. Also, Norm's entry line, "It's a dog-eat-dog world out there and I'm wearing Milkbone underwear."

The final scene from the last episode of Newhart.

Those are a few that stick with me.

I'll put a mention down for T:SCC for the scene where Derek Reese takes John out for his birthday and Kyle Reese is out playing baseball. Great scene with top notch music...

That's the one! I had three in mind when I was writing my response, and by the time I'd written the first two, I forgot the third. That was it though, the last scene of Blackadder. It made me cry.

I think it was one of the most perfect endings and I think because Blackadder was an extremely funny sitcom the sombre ending was all the more powerful. I cannot think of a better the show could have ended.

Joan of Arcadia, Jump. When Adam and Joan share their first kiss.

Magnum murders Ivan.

Picket Fences, the Christmas episode as the characters react to cows being used as surrogate mothers for humans.

i Also, IIRC, there was a great episode of Hill Street Blues that same night, where Furillo goes on the warpath after some nuns are murdered in a church.

Yes, it was a season premiere.

Speaking of Hill Street Blues, I remember being shocked at seeing Bobby Hill and Renko gunned down in the dirty abandoned building, and not knowing if they lived or died until next season.

From Hill Street. Last season Detective Buntz is held hostage tied down and by force of will escapes and pushes the kidnapper out the window. Joe Coffy's death.

I wouldn't say the best. But the scene which brings a tear is the Just off duty Third Watch flashing their badges and hitching rides as they join the First Watch on the way to the World Trade Centers on 9/11.
