I Love Lucy:
* (The Audition)
- Desi's "badass Babalú", as the YouTube video calls it. LOL. Probably the sexiest thing ever on T.V. before Elvis hit the airwaves. Desi really goes at it, untying his tie, banging the hell of his conga drum and letting his hair go wild.
* (Cuban Pals)
- Lucy's hair suffers in the translation (Lucy using a "henna rinse" for her not-so-natural red hair) as Ricky translates between Lucy and his Spanish-speaking Cuban friends. Desi screws up and starts speaking English to Spanish-speaking characters, laughs and starts again.
* (Lucy is Enceinte)
- Lucy reveals her pregnancy to Ricky as Lucy and Desi announce their real-life pregnancy to the television audience. Lucy and Desi are both choked up, Desi calls Lucy his mother instead of his wife and sings "We're Having a Baby". This was the first take and they wanted to do a second because of the flub and how emotional they were, but they used the first take because of how real it was.
* (Lucy Hires an English Tutor)
- Lucy tells Ricky that he's not going to talk to the baby until he's 21, lest he learn improper English. Lucy demonstrates pompous proper English that doesn't sound like American speech at all. Ricky demonstrates the idiocy of how the English language has many words that are written alike but said completely different. In Spanish, everything is pronounced how it is written. It took Ricky long enough to learn just how to speak American. Ricky suggests that the baby learn nothing but Spanish and that Lucy not speak to the baby until it's 21.
* (Ricky Minds the Baby)
- Ricky tells Little Ricky a Spanglish version of Little Red Riding Hood that includes "frijoles, tortillas y vino", "What big ojos que tu tienes!" (Desi using his huge bulging eyes, of course) and "Gracías, Señor Lobo." Ricky prances around the room and acts the whole story out, illustrating all the while switching back and forth between English and Spanish.

Magnum,PI, as previously mentioned commits cold blooded murder:
Did You See The Sunrise?

Yeah, I always think of that scene when this kind of thing comes up. What year was that, '82? I can still remember my brother and I just looking at each other like, "Did they really do that?" Were parts 1 and 2 shown as a two-hour season premiere? It seems like it was. Also, IIRC, there was a great episode of Hill Street Blues that same night, where Furillo goes on the warpath after some nuns are murdered in a church.

I remember seeing Tom Selleck on the old Later with Bob Costas show, and they talked about that scene. Selleck described Magnum's action as "morally indefensible, but the right thing to do."

That "after death" scene in St. Elsewhere was great, too, and spooky. The WKRP Thanksgiving stunt is another one I was thinking of.

A few others:

Barney recites the Preamble of the Constitution on The Andy Griffith Show.

Rev. Jim takes the driver's license test on Taxi.

Hawkeye eulogizes Capt. Tuttle on MASH.

J.D. LaRue's first AA meeting on Hill Street Blues.

Basil tries to hold a fire drill on Fawlty Towers.

Bad guy Jim Davis runs Little Joe down in the desert on Bonanza, "The Gift."

Coach sees his late wife in his daughter on Cheers.

The "How far we done fell" scene with Bunk and Omar on The Wire.

David's "Please don't make me redundant" scene on The Office.

I hate these threads because I have so many to mention, but my memory's so crap!
I started it because my memory is also crap, and I need you people to help me out!

A few more:

Dexter: Tonight's the Night. (Just the first minute of the clip.)

Heroes: Peter vs. Sylar at Mo's apartment in ".07%"...because it's a rare example of what they should do a lot more of, show these people using their powers in intelligent and surprising ways. The sequel was Peter vs. Sylar in the limo in "The Invisible Thread." The writers need to do this sort of thing way, way more often.

Many of my favourite scenes have been mentioned already but 2 that haven't are the final scene in Ashes to Ashes series 2, such a great WTF moment.
And the scene in Life on Mars when Sam confronts the football hooligan and tells him what'll come of the violence.

Archie Bunker: It is after Edith is dead and Archie is trying to be brave and finds one of her house slippers underneath his bed and he breaks down and cries.

Battlestar Galactica: Adama jumping the ship into New Caprica's atmosphere

ER: When the helicopter chops the arm off that one doctor.

Smallville: When Lana learns Clark's secret.

I only recently watched it, but the ending of Life on Mars (U.K.) is very memorable. Obviously, this is a big spoiler, so beware.

I also agree with all the stuff from Dexter people mentioned. That show is still on and is already legendary. Instant classic.

I'll also chip in the 1st dream sequence from Twin Peaks. Early on, Twin Peaks was quirky and a bit bizzare, but this scene in the third episode really pushed it to a new level.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0CGzPaJUOE&feature=related

"M*A*S*H"
Radar coming into the operating room to tell them what's happened to Henry.

Hawkeye and the chicken on the bus.

Anytime Charles said in that sly, somewhat derogitory manner, "Gentlemen...". :D

"KNIGHT RIDER:
K.I.T.T. yelling out for help as he's being beurned alive in a pit of acid, while Michael can do nothing but watch.

"The Scent of Roses". Michael rmembering the girl and what she said, "The scent of roses will last forever."

The pilot where Devin says they may never know what he looked like.

QUANTUM LEAP:
The Lee Harvey Oswald opening montage, with Velton Ray Bunch's award winning score, ending with the quantum leap effects going over a picture of LHO, and ending at his eyes.
The scene at the end where he fails and Kennedy is killed, and the music is playing dramatically as he leaps into the next person --a secret service agent -- to try to stop it.

Al and his girl dacing to "Georgia on My Mind", in the episode "M.I.A." (sad they had to replace that in the DVD).

TIME TRAX:
The pilot where the world president is killed by the bad guy with the gun that shot Lincoln -- which he stole fro mthe Smithsonia. On camera, while being lead away with handcuffs, he shouts with wild eyes into the camera, "My name will live on forever!!!". Which was quite disturbing and true. How many of us can name half a dozen or more three-name killers?

"THE SIMPSONS:
Countless scenes from the two-parter, "Who Shot Mr. Burns?":
"Did you have the same backward-talking dream with the flaming cards?"
"I'll drive."

Skinner reading a newspaper with the header: Aweful Scholl Is Aweful Rich. Super Intendant Chalmers walks in:
"What that say?" looking at Skinner's hand which is covering Aweful infront of scholl.
"Oh, nothing. It's an unrelated article."
"An unrelated article."
"Yes."
"In the banner headline?"
"Um hum."

(too many scens -- will stop there)

Another episode where Skinner and Bart's teacher are arguing in the cafitera and he stands and shouts loudly, "OH COME ON, EDNA -- you and I both no these children have NO FUTURE!!!."
Worried gasps from the children who all stop eating and talking and look at him.
"Prove me wrong, children. Pooovvve meee wrooong."

Then one where Homer replies to Marge, "But, what can I do, I'm only..." counts the finger on his hand, "one man."

Yes, it was a season premiere.

Speaking of Hill Street Blues, I remember being shocked at seeing Bobby Hill and Renko gunned down in the dirty abandoned building, and not knowing if they lived or died until next season.

That "after death" scene in St. Elsewhere was great, too, and spooky. The WKRP Thanksgiving stunt is another one I was thinking of.
"As God as my witness, I SWEAR I thought turkeys could fly!"
:lol::lol:

I too immediately thought of WKRPs turkey drop as well. The buildup and here is the payoff

And the scene from All in the Family where Archie has to change his grandson's diaper for the first time had me rolling (sorry couldn't find a clip)

I also agree with all the stuff from Dexter people mentioned. That show is still on and is already legendary. Instant classic.

The multiple levels of irony they can fit into one scene is wonderful. This is a great example (from S3, so I'll spoiler-code it):

Dexter's proposal to Rita. Absolutely gave me chills - both the good, awww kind and the "he's cribbing that from the rantings of a murderous psycho stalker" kind. :rommie: Unfortunately, that's not the video, it's one of those "creative" YouTube things, ech, but at least the audio is right.

The other one is also from S3, can't find a YouTube reference (maybe I should start putting these scenes up! far too many good'uns are missing!) Dexter and Deb's scenes together are absolutely the best part of the show. What a fantastic ying-yang thing they've got going, they're the heart and soul of Dexter.

Dexter asks Deb to be his "best man."

Way too tough so I'll just pick one scene from each show.

Battlestar Galactica: The final scene between Roslin and Adama in the raptor. "I'm gonna build it right there, Laura."

LOST: "Don't you walk away from me! I was meant to do this! DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!" tied with Locke's man of science, man of faith speech.

The Wire: "Where the fuck is Wallace?!"

The Shield: Dutch's breakdown in the car in "Dragonchasers" tied with Claudette interrogating Vic in the finale.

Babylon 5: Londo's apology to G'Kar.

Fringe: Olivia's talk with the young child in "Ability" tied with her breakdown in "Bad Dreams" but that last one is sort of a series of scenes.

NCIS: Gibbs in the hospital begging for his wife and daughter.

House: Moriarity's speech to him about being kind to people.

The X-Files: The ending of "Closure."

Seinfeld: "I'm out there, Jerry, and I'm lovin' every minute of it! I feel like a naked innocent boy roaming the country side."

The Sopranos: "You know where I was last night when you called? I was outside a whorehouse listening to one of my guys beat the shit out of someone. Heh. I wished I was in there." "Giving the beating? Or taking it?"

Curb Your Enthusiasm: Happy Holidays from Larry David and the Blacks!

Twin Peaks: "How's Annie?"

Carnivale: The faceoff between Justin and Ben in the final episode.

The West Wing: Bartlet's discussion with ghost Mrs. Landingham and then the drive to the press conference.

Brotherhood: The reveal of Ellis Franklin's glasses.

Doctor Who: "Do one thing for me, Rose. Have a fantastic life."

Babylon 5: "We are here to place President Clark under arrest..."
Farscape: The shootout in "Scratch 'n' Sniff" where D'Argo loses his cloak and they rescue Chiana from the crazy sex auctioneers.
Jericho: The ambulance scene in the series finale.
nuBSG: The Galactica rescues everyone from the internment camp. Tied with death of the Pegasus.
