What makes the pre-TFF movies um, not modern? Is it the year of production, production values, or what?

Just dividing the movies into two periods. The Carter/Reagan era and the TNG/Clinton/Y2K period you might say.

Monday it will pass "I am Legend" because it only needs 14K now and that will put it into spot number 47 which is where it will stay for some time, IMO it can't go any higher now.

Hopefully it can stay in the top 50 for all of 2009.

Well it's slow on the domestic front however not on the international front, Star Trek is about pass other movies even if it is at only 1/4 impulse speed.

Since we now know it is going back to IMAX, I think that it has a shot at spot 118 that's 1.2 million worldwide that it needs, the spot after that is $390.5(Robin Hood) so it has no chance to get that one.

BTW...weren't the Cutesy Turds one of the lamest new wave bands of the early 80s? I hear they got booted from CBGB's once for not drawing any crowds.

Looks like JAWS will hold that spot. But TREK can still make closer to $258 or $259 before its all said and over.

Closer to $258 sure, but nowhere near $259 million. The movie will probably be out of theatres for good in the next 3-4 weeks.
