Star Trek, Now Passing _____ #_ _ and moving up.

The real question is how long does it stay in the Top 50 before its pushed back out.

The glass is half full, dammit!

In fact with this movie, it's overflowing...

Hahah...yeah, I like pointing out the negative sometimes. But, it's also I like prognosticating.

I've accepted that Star Trek will likely over time be at 60 or even 70 on that list, but prognosticate that the next one has the potential to land it in the Top 20 domestic all-time.

It already passed BATMAN...didn't it? Someone here said it did about a week or so back.

Compared to NEMESIS...which ranks somewhere between the Zapruder Film and childhood footage of Kevin Spacey's toilet training.

I think it'll end up tying or fractionally passing MONSTERS INC. when all is said and done, which earned a smidge under $256 million in its domestic run.

Maybe... just like Wolverine might hit 180 just by hanging around in the cheap theaters...

Local IMAX had 46 people buying online tickets, not counting walk-ins, not too shabby for a Tuesday night.

Yeah it's a real grind when your down to 300 theaters and you average 50k a day. That's 350K a week, takes 3 weeks to make a whole million. Something a movie could do in just one evening when it was new.

I hope it hangs in just long enough to get behind JAWS at 260 million, then paramount can close it off and release the DVD and Blu-ray.

Hey, i met Kevin Spacey, and if his toilet training was anywhere near as pleasant as he was i think it would rank much higher than that!

 :guffaw:

Yeah, I guess toilet training WOULD be more pleasant than trying to figure out the logic of how Shinzon was cloned.

This is where we are at now

# 44 Jaws $260,000,000 1975

# 45 I Am Legend $256,393,010 / 2007
# 46 Monsters, Inc. $255,873,250 / 2001
# 47 Star Trek $254,006,000 / 2009

I continue to hope it can just slide past "I Am Legend".
It has no chance to overtake Jaws, so I am hoping for number 45 on the all time list now. And wow that is good for Jaws
Adjusted for inflation
# 7 Jaws $919,605,900 / $260,000,000 1975

We'll see, it'll drop down to 48 once HP overtakes it later this week, but could bounce back up to #47 until at least the end of the year.
