pfft then you might as well say eating animals is wrong.
It is.

If that was ever tried I gonuts. A lot of others no doubt would too. I'm mad at animal testing as it is but ripping out an animals brain and plugging it into a machine is a line that better not be crossed.
Next step: wire animal brains into the robots. Who's in line for an android body?

pfft then you might as well say eating animals is wrong. If its just a frog brain or something I doubt they'd mind.

the bible says to go out and eat animals.
Irc if God says its ok to eat animals then it is. He created them for consumption.
Yes he does. The bible is testament to that.

However, isn't it possible to have an artificial body tied into a brain remotely? I vaguely remember an experiment where they tied a monkey's brain into a remotely controlled arm without having to do any brain transpanted, and it was able to exert some control over it.
How so?
And where on the food chain does that distinction start? Is it wrong for a shark to eat a fish? Can a cat eat a mouse? Is it just humans that shouldn't eat animals?
seems odd to try to qualify that kind of answer by saying it's wrong 'sometimes'...
It's wrong for Humans to eat animals and it's wrong for animals to eat animals.
The difference between us and animals is that we're intelligent enough to understand it's wrong, but then again even some Humans lack the intelligence to know that it's wrong or at least suppress that particular part of their conscience.
The idea that it's right to extinguish a life and then feast on the flesh of that animal afterwards when there are alternative foods sickens me.
Immortality just ain't in the cards... Sure I think we all wish it was, but it isn't.
Who says we have any right to end the life of plants for sustenance? Can't eat meat? Then you can't eat vegetable. Simple as by your logic.![]()
Vegetables don't feel pain, have emotions or intelligence. They don't think and they don't feel.
Do you think it's right for one Human to eat another Human?
if you don't think there's a difference between a vegetable and an animal then pray tell what is the difference between animals and Humans?
Woops! we better get started on making all the carnivores on the planet starve to death. It's wrong for Humans to eat animals and it's wrong for animals to eat animals.

Actually, plants react to their outside environment (plants grow to follow the light) so they must 'feel' to know their environment, though whether they feel pain is up for debate (a quick search on google seem to produce mixed results, any botanists on the board?) especially when it comes to being vague as how one defines 'pain', especially when it's not certain whether some more 'primitive' animals show pain.
There are situations where its 'right' (i.e. stranded in a desert after a plane crash, or in middle of the ocean and there's no other source of food, especially if people in the group already died) though it's not exactly something that the vast majority of people would relish in.Do you think it's right for one Human to eat another Human?
Also, cannibalism in itself comes with inherent risks, especially when it comes to eating brains, it's how you end up with the human form of mad cow disease.
Besides, we're on about why it's not OK to eat members of other species for sustenance, not our own species.
There are differences between plant and animal, as there are animal and human, but they're all life that can be consumed. When it comes down to it, most species won't exactly weep a tear when they have to kill another life form to survive, whether because it's a threat, resource or competition. It's how evolution went down, many millions of years ago (at least in terms of the existance of predators), going to tell evolution off?if you don't think there's a difference between a vegetable and an animal then pray tell what is the difference between animals and Humans?
Humans are a species that evolved to be able to eat both, welcome to being an omnivore.
Btw, how do you feel about Venus Fly Traps? They eat meat.
if the tables were turned and some alien species decided you were food, you would have to accept this, even though from your perspective and from the aliens, it wouldn't be justified.
