Although Voyager was a disappointment in many ways and I do like to point out its faults when the occasion arises, I stand by the opinion that it was an entertaining show. Even a mediocre Star Trek series is going to be better than 90% of whats on the rest of TV. I'd probably give it a 7 but a 4 for effort.
I concur. Solid 7. Could have been more, though -- and when I think of the missed opportunities it makes me want to dock it a point and make it a 6, but honestly, it was better than that even with the wasted opportunities.
Statistically it would be impossible for me to rate it above 5.5 or below 4.5 at this point, so I'll go with 5.
I rated it a 6, mainly because of B'Elanna, who was one of my favorite characters on the show. I would've rated it higher except for how they diminished the Borg due to overuse, despite the excellent two-parter, Scorpion. They also did injustice to Q, although the ep Death Wish was outstanding. -- RR
It has some excellent moments on an episodic basis, but on the whole it was somewhat of a failure. 5/10
It certainly wasn't the best Trek show, but it had its moments, and its better than a whole lot of other things on TV. 7/10.
One of my favorite Trek shows, with outstanding characters and excellent episodes aside from the fact that there was an entire season about the Borg and there was at least 1 holodeck episode every season. 8 of 10.
6. Much better than other sci fi shows like Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Lexx, Hercules, Xena, Eureka, Heroes seasons 2/3, but not as good as Lost, TNG, DS9, ENT, Quantum Leap, Babylon 5, never had a season as good as Heroes season one. And while nBSG was better than VOY I liked the VOY characters more.
Agreed. I also rated it 4/10. Extremely disappointing, overall. A few gems throughout the seven seasons, but I found most episodes to be generic, dull or predictable. Characters weren't terribly consistent and their development was poorly handled. Continuity did not exist, and I didn't find much compelling about the crew's "struggle" in the delta quadrant or their eventual return home.
6/10. The weakest Trek after TOS. It is very uneaven in quality, with most episodes being either pure shit or pure win. Little episodes in between, and incredibly bad continuity. But it's got some of Trek's best characters, an awesome premise, and many great aliens. I guess you could call me both a hater and a fan.
Despite being very dissapointed by some aspects of the show, I've decided to give it an 8. Why? Because of the characters and because I find seasons 1-3 so incredible good that I can forget about the dissapointments in the later seasons. I just like the show, the characters and the premise for the show.
I gave it a 4. I like it but as the years go by I find myself more and more disappointed by it. With an isolated ship, should have had far more semi-regulars than it did. TPTB should have taken a tip from the writers on DS9 for this. The dropped premise of SF/Maquis tension also annoys me. Also do not like the over-abundance of Janeway/Seven/Doctor episodes in the last 4 season. The series limped to the finish line rather than gained momenteum. You could really sense the writers were running out of ideas.
