Apparently he and his Mother were both injured in the attack. I hope they both recover quickly.

For those who haven't clicked the link, the attack involved Calum Davenport of West Ham United, having had both legs stabbed. Hope he and his mother recover soon - Davenport had emergency surgery last night. Here's hoping too his career isn't finished.

Someone in London gets stabbed every 52 seconds...People seem to get stabbed over there more often than people get shot here.

Being stabbed in both legs would seem to indicate possibly it was, but I'm assuming they knew who he was and that that might be a weak spot-- ie open the safe or we screw your career...this is assuming it was a burglary, there isn't a lot of info as yet, could be anything, but going for the legs seems awfully specific.
BBC News says that Davenport's sister's 25 year old boyfriend has been remanded in custody in connection with the attack. It sounds personal.
