Given the current bowling conditions, and possible rain later in the weekend, England might have to enforce the follow-on at this rate if they want to win...

Perhaps they shouldn't - with no rain forecast, and tomorrow likely to be very sunny, England could take advantage quickly. I'm not entirely sure why Aggers and co. insist on Australia batting last?

I doubt the follow on will be available. I suspect the tail will wag a fair bit. Though I do think England will be back at the wicket before close at 7pm tonight. I shall miss that, giving my Uncle a lesson in his new mobile phone.

Well that one was a seriously crummy umpiring decision. Much though we want to win, I think we want to win fairly. Clark must have had at least another half a dozen runs in him! I suppose it makes up for the Clarke mistake.

I would say there might be some umm...heated media comment on this point tomorrow morning when Australia wakes up and realises the Ashes are gone.
Doctored wicket or not, Stuart Broad bowled at the stumps while we elected to bowl 2 feet outside off yesterday. Attacking cricket beats conservatism any time.

It ain't over yet. England have a positive flair for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. There's another go round each yet: if England collapse as spectacularly second time and Australia bowl properly, there might still be a chaseable total. At which point Harmison's nerves come into play and he starts aiming straight for the stumps... at Edgbaston.
