I think it was just poetic license. Sarah's words following John through time to let him know that yes, she loves him too.

I'm afraid not. Personally, I secretly hoped that if John returned he returned to that same moment, but alas we'll never know.
I don't believe so. The producers did reveal where they wanted the Season 3 story to go, but that's about it.

The released quotes are available earlier in the thread. Basically the new season would focus on John trying to adapt to a reality where he wasn't the leader. The writers and producers had mapped out the first several episodes before they got notification that they'd been terminated (pun intended).

Were they ever going to bother to tie into the McG mythology?
The two creative teams worked out deals that the films and television series were set in alternate realities. So I guess that you could say the movies were the Prime timeline and TSCC was the nuTerminator. There were no plans to combine them.
