BIG BANG and me!!

I am going to the August 25 taping of THE BIG BANG THEORY. I haven't been to a sitcom taping before. I have been to Leno a couple times (both times with my wife because her God, Barry Manilow, was a guest. But the last time we saw him, Jessica Simpson was there. So at least I had something to look at other than just Barry Manilow singing Mandy for the millionth time.)

Any way..I love the BIG BANG THEORY. It is my favorite show on TV, and by far, has the best Vulcan since Spock starring on it. My friend saw a taping of it last year and said it took five hours to finish!!! So...the taping starts at 7pm and we wont be out of there until 12 midnight..at best.

I will post a review of my taping of the BIG BANG....so stay tuned...

How exciting! I love the show and going to a taping would be awesome. I hope you enjoy it, and yes, let us know how it goes!

My good friend Jamie was at the taping of Conan with James Spader was on last week. And, for a brief second, we saw him! How cool..

But yes, I can't wait to go and see all the behinds the scenes stuff. How they rewrite on stage, or block where they all stand. Who knows, maybe there will be a wardrobe incident and I will see more of Penny in the raw!!!

I don't mind if you can't tell us about the actual episode, I'm mostly interested in how the whole process works and what the actors are like in person. :)

Me too. I hope I can get good seats and watch the camera play is done. My friend said that the writers would stop scenes with re-writes all through the process. I can't wait; I've been to zillions of concerts, but never TV SHOW taping..all new.

The last concert I was at, at gun point, was a Barry Manilow concert. And we got tickets right next to the mixer board which was fun to watch how they operated that...

It will be interesting to discover who does the audience warm-up. Especially for a show that works on the levels as The Big Bang Theory.

Have a blast!

By the way..my wife and I are going to wear our GREEN LANTERN shirts!! I bet the audience looks like one of those old LETS MAKE A DEAL audiences!

Don't they make you sign an NDA, or isn't that an issue for sit coms?
I've never had to sign them when watching sitcom tapings. When I've visited sets of films or seen them early I have had to sign them (like Terminator Salvation for example), but not every time I've seen a film early.

Ooh. I look forward to hearing about this. Big Bang is definitely one of my favorite shows on TV right now.

I had just visited the LA area early in July. I really wished they had tapings going on then. Too bad it was the off season.

Have fun!

I don't recall signing an NDA when I watched a taping of Third Rock From The Sun...

Dude, I'm jealous. Big Bang is Da Bomb!

How long did it take to tape THIRD ROCK when you went..and by the way, I loved that show. So don't sell your self short!

Rob

Oh, Lordy. Can't remember...maybe a couple of months. Figure time for editing and any post-prod. Yeah, Third Rock was great. (In case you're wondering, it's the episode where the cafeteria lady charges Dick for crackers just because she doesn't like him, and Harry and his friends finally pass their GED. Funny!)

I DO remember that episode. Cool..next time I see that one I will think of you...did you make sure to laugh for a brief second after everyone else was done?

I've been to a Letterman taping and a taping of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Letterman was easy - it ran exactly an hour and we were out of there.

WLIIA took about 5 hours. It's different than Big Bang, of course, since the audience is on camera WLIIA. It was grueling, though. We didn't get food - there really was no break during the taping. But it was a lot of fun. We didn't sign any NDA (that I can remember) - we just went an enjoyed.

Have fun!
