Zoe Saldana is *fine*, but please-

and a rather generic Hollywood 'minority girl' face.

I think you could have phrased that differently. There are quite a few "generic" looking actresses of whatever background. Beside sounding dismissive, the term "minority girl" doesn't even tell one anything. There are Asian, Black and Latino "minority girls".
There's one generic look for them all?

Green Orion Woman actress is three inches taller than Too-Tallness actress.
:guffaw:

Ironic. So Plec, will you be changing you avatar to reflect this new information?

I didn't think so.

Really most women are taller than 5' in the US, even in Hollywood, so this is a curious "fault" to single out.

Anyway, I admit I'm rather dismayed that there is a whole thread dedicated to ZS weight.

Actually, pretty close. When they want a 'minority' girl, Hollywood tends to go for a very specific type, in order to look 'exotic'. Hair and exact skin color may vary a little, but not too much. Figure and form is nearly a template. And there's a lot of women like that, look at Halle Barry, etc. It's unfortunate, but it's how Hollywood tends to work.

Wasn't it Scotty who said that all women have their charms, you just have to know where to find em?

Oh yeah, and from her pictures its clear that she hasn't pissed off her retoucher. Yet.
An intriguing statement, from someone with a practiced eye.
.

The best photoshopping is the stuff you can't see. For all but two of her images posted in this thread, the retoucher's deft hand and self-control are evident by what is not noticeable. For instance, I noticed that they tucked in the bulges on her arm only because as a photographer I know the pose she's in would create unflattering tricep bulge otherwise, but left the natural muscle definition in her legs. That's commendable because too many retouchers are afraid of definition on women, particularly thin women like Zoe Saldana.

In two of her images however, the retoucher was either too inexperienced or too habituated to Adult industry photoshop norms. S/he didn't know what to do with 'zomg skin texture and A cups!!!! Nooo!!!" and oversmoothed Zoe's chest, giving her the slight illusion of pectorals instead of small breasts. This is one of my pet peeves. This particular type of overcorrection is common in porn and 'glamor', and I come across it every day at work. Some of these retouchers go jihadist for the glamor lighting "rules" that ratios on women must be flat and skin be uniform and smooth, so instead of using shadows and texture to enhance curves and detail, they eradicate them to the point that boobs and asses look plasticized and pushed up against glass instead of natural.

The photoshop work clashes with the naturalistic lighting.

Ok rant over.

I know this is not typical but I dated a woman who was afraid to eat lest she gain weight.

No, that's not good. A much better choice are those women who can eat anything they want, yet still stay incredibly skinny, due to fast digestive systems. Love those. :D

Or terrific metabolisms.

This would be me. At 52, I wear a size 0. This would be the same size I wore in high school, except the fashion industry has catered to the fattening of America and what was a 7 in 1974 is now a 0.

It does help that some of my hobbies are surfing, tap dancing, and yoga. :p

You just earned alot of brownie points from this Dalek. :bolian: Ya do pilates, also? Plus great point on the size changes as you said....yesterday's medium is now today's small. :vulcan:

I myself am a fan of Elisabeth Sladen, who plays Sarah Jane Smith in both classic and current Dr. Who ( Plus she looks gorgious at the age of 61 )....she'd probably piss off alot of posters here cause she's so skinny also.

It was my understanding that actors are generally "shaped" by casting agents and personal coaches well before the shooting dates to ensure they are the precise "size" they need to appear on screen.

So perhaps it's not Zoe... maybe it's the producers who have her in need of a Filet o Fish.

...Plus McDonald's hamburgers taste and smell horribly ...

This is because they have no noses or mouths.
