Immunity Syndrome? In excitement that is the anti-"Doomsday Machine."

Where is "Way to Eden"?

That was the first episode I recall seeing as a young child that didn't fly by faster than what seemed like a half-hour. It set the stage for my appreciation of stories that took thier time, and, ultimately & probably, why TMP is my favourite Trek film to date.

Awaiting a clean bill of health from Dr. McCoy, I suspect.:guffaw:

I really don't like making these choices because I like different episodes for different reasons and then I have to figure out is the reason I like this episode better than the reason I like that episode.

I voted for Amok Time because nobody had voted for it.

I like that episode because of T'Pring. She was just TOO COOL!

Think about it. Spock is running around the galaxy with this nitwit human and the nitwit human is in charge. All of the time he has this hot babe back on Vulcan that he doesn't even talk about. So then he shows up because he can't avoid it. Like she is supposed to give a damn. HA!

But then she gets these two dummies to fight with each other and nitwit Kirk doesn't have a clue. So no matter which one wins she gets what she wants.

Dragonladies Rule! You don't run out on them. To hell with Kirk.

Spock approaches T'Pring, who is now his, and asks her why the challenge and why she chose the captain. She informs him that she wanted Sta'an, Sta'an wanted her. If Kirk were the victor he would not want her and she would have Sta'an. If Spock were the victor, he would not want her because she had dared the challenge, and again, she would have Sta'an. But if he did not free her, it would be the same. For Spock would be gone for killing his captain. She would have his name, his property, and Sta'an would still be there.

"Logical, flawlessly logical.", states Spock. Turning to his rival Spock says, "Sta'an. She is yours. After a time you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true."
That was actually kind of lame from Spock at the end.

I'm glad Shore Leave is on the list; what do you like about it?
It's just absolutely THE most purely FUN episode they ever made, IMO!:techman:
That's why it's always been my favorite.
It was mine too, before the remastered eps came out, but the sheer grandur afforded The Doomsday Machine via the new FX combined with the inate drama of the peereless live action just pushed it to the forefront for me!:techman:

Chrisisall:

I hovered between The Doomsday Machine and Journey to Babel, but picked the latter, because it has so many good bits between Sarek, Spock, and Amanda. And I also love Sarek's remarks to the Tellarite, Gav, esp. this exchange:

GAV: There will be payment for your slander, Sarek.
SAREK: Threats are illogical. And payment is usually expensive.

Theodore Sturgeon thught that, when produced, the episode revealed too much early on by showing antennae in the bushes, spoiling some suspense for the audience. Of course that suspense would only work the first time viewing. After reading that I've had a voice in my ear saying, "but it could have been even better." Too bad for me, really. It's still groovy and he (TS) is about my favorite author.

 Yeah, it's a moot point after a fan has seen it 50 times. Nice, new avatar, plynch.

Thanks for noticing. I've been casting about for a good one lately and I think this is "it." Be well!
