I just dug that trailer up again. When you go to the official st site, and go to trailers, its the one titled "answer me"-- after Pegg says his line, it really does look like Quinto is on the brink. Of course, i probably wouldnt think that had they not told us in interviews how hard it was to do that scene with a straight face! OR perhaps, that was the most serious take they could get!

I've run across a number of instances on various discussion boards of people saying that you can see him almost smiling, and on that "under penalty of court martial..." line I think they're right. I do hope the take with Quinto being surprised by Pegg's ad lib makes it into the gag reel -- I'd love to see that.

ah, it took me a little while but i finally got round to watching that artist on artist clip. very cool. thanks for posting it!

i try not to look too hard at what the actor is doing behind his character, i like to try and suspend my disbelief. but simon pegg is hilarious and it's good to know they were all having so much fun.

^ When the movie was still in the process of being made and hard information about the story and characters was almost impossible to come by, one thing you did hear repeatedly was that they were having a lot of fun making it, and that also came out later in a lot of the promo-tour videos.

I'm surprised Uhura didn't get as many votes as I thought. But while I'm a long-time Uhura fan, because of Nichelle Nichols, I voted for Gaila. I like Zoe Saldana, but not as much as Rachel Nichols (coinkydink?), the actress who played Gaila! (Shit, just noticed this was a multiple choice poll. Curses!
