if ads in America were like this, nobody would use TiVO

I think it's the culture shock that makes this stuff seem crazier, there's plenty of crazy ads here but we just think of them as stupid because there isn't that exotic factor. Like I saw an ad the other day where a couple of kids basically turned each other into fruit by the rope or some shit, but if it had been Japanese we'd probably be thinking it was something brilliant.
 
how come the people in the ads arent Japanese?
also, Ive always wondered, where do Japanese film-makers find white actors when they need to cast non-asian roles?
 
I love tv ads from Japan. They remind me in no uncertain terms how utterly moronic my own culture really is. It's like being a straight dude looking through a Playgirl.

It's not a real commercial. It's a remix of various scenes from various commercials. The Japanese are weird, but not that weird.
