Size Of The New Enterprise (large images)

I'm getting ready to cut my toe nails... I think it's far better than fighting about if the ship is 300 or 700 meters long :alienblush:

How long are your toenails?

Well, they used to be 30 centimeters long but since the timeline changed I have to spend double the time cutting them as they are now 70 centimeters.

I may even have to buy new shoes :klingon:

30 centimeters? What the Hell are you, a giant sloth?

You need to post photos of those nails ... including inconveniently placed reference objects so we can analyze your toe nails and debate the sizes properly. Our graphics artists and cryptozoologists are standing by.

^ There is that, plus the fact that this new timeline actually begins with First Contact where Zephram Cochrane actually got a close up look at the Enterprise-E (and it even fired some torpedoes at him). It also can't be understated that Cochrane's sidekick Lilly spent several days ABOARD the Enterprise; that's gotta leaves some ripples SOMEWHERE in the timeline.

I also believe the timeline was changed after Enterprise. Besides Lilly being on the Enterprise-E, Archer was on the Enterprise-J (looking out a giant window in a corridor no less) and he had Daniels device that showed every ship type for the next several hundred years. Plus all of the Temporal Cold War nonsense already screwed the timeline up with Archer getting a Suliban pod with cloaking technology and the timeship in "Future Tense" that was a TARDIS. We've been in a alternate universe since Enterprise. You can't say since First Contact since Vulcan wasn't destroyed when the Enterprise-E came back.

Since we are arguing the size of the new Enterprise, I have a few questions.

First, did anyone notice the giant damaged saucer section floating behind the Enterprise at Vulcan? I'm really wondering if someday there will be more information on this ship and others that were at the space station at Earth.

Second, if there is a remake of the Doomsday Machine, how will the Constellation fit inside the Doomsday Machine if it's the same class as the Enterprise?

And finally, does this thread lock up at 1,701?

I believe in the original artist's conceptions, that saucer looked suspiciously like it came off an NX-class vessel. Now obviously, the design changed a bit. Either there's something bigger than the Enterprise in the UFP or Vulcan Starfleet, or that was the remains of a Vulcan space station.

And finally, does this thread lock up at 1,701?

I keep hoping M'Sharek locks the thread at 1700 just to see the outcry in "Moderators Actions".

The giant sauce has come up every so often and IIRC most feel it was a Vulcan oribital station of some kind.
I am going to have to wait for the DVD to see it better, but it was very large compared to the very large NuE.

It had a maw that could swallow a dozen starships (at the standard size we grew up with), I THINK it could take the new E with no problem.

Right at THIS moment? no.:p Are you?

Well ... er ...

God, I'm pathetic.
:guffaw:S'OKAY! if were discusing the size of a fictional ship then were ALL pathetic!
I wonder what you think of what goes on in the TrekTech forum?

There must be at least four or five well-thought-out and detailed theory on how and where M/AM power generation occurs on the original Enterprise, to say nothing about the location of the photon torpedo tubes!

It might be a tight squeeze, especially if the ship keeps getting bigger

If Kirk's Rock Penis can get in there, the new Enterprise won't have a problem at all.

If there were a giant, spaceborne antiproton beam-shooting fleshlight out there... would you stick YOUR giant rock penis in it?
