I guess we always have been in a parallel universe, 'cos this Trek board is a better place for Who chat than any Who specific message boards.

Lawrence Miles likes Torchwood.

I love how his Wikipedia page has been vandalised:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Miles

In May 2008, Miles temporarily posted online a spec script for the TV series entitled "Book of the World", in a self described attempt to provide a legitimate basis for his polarising criticisms of the production team behind the revived series. However, it was shit.

Miles is the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons made flesh

What is this The Event you guys keep talking about?

I am SO glad they decided to show this simultaneously in Australia (if only on pay TV for now).

Day 4 and the rating went up nearly 3/4 million? Sweeet.

Can you imagine we would have said anything near like this after s1? Thought not.

I like where Jim Steele went and as a matter of fact raise the bar:

Name me a single SF TV show that has been as good as TW this season.

Especially Day 4 - I can't think of a single ep of any series that was better. Some are very close, but I can't honestly think of a better one.

Yep, I went there.

I'm REALLY looking forward to tonights finale. I never thought I'd hear myself say that about Torchwood. Why couldn't it have been this good from the beginning! :(

I'm betting there are going to be quite a few more twists and turns in the last hour... hopefully no reset button ending though. A surprise cameo by the Doctor at the end, just as everything has been resolved...? "Oh, have I missed the party?" :D

Who told ya that? It's the best of the 3 so far.
Online reviews after the first episode aired.

I think you're both talking at cross purposes. Bob's on about Torchwood and Pindar's on about Mitchell and Webb, right?

No i think both are talking about Mitchell and Webb. Of course the statement that the third series is the best yet is true to both shows.

The Event is an unspecified apocalyptic occurrence that will take place sometime before 2013 and result in the end of human civilization. Of course that doesnt mean we cant have fun so Remain Indoors and watch the Quiz Broadcast!

No, I was talking about Mitchell and Webb. It's been pretty good so far.
I expect I'll see it at some point.

Here is what Wikipedia says about the event: said:
The Quiz Broadcast - A television quiz show broadcast by the British Emergency Broadcasting Service set some time in the year 2013 after "The Event", a never-explained incident which led to the apocalypse. All of the questions and answers in the show are wrong, with "The Event" destroying knowledge of the previous society. Example questions include: "What is the name of this pre-Event leader?" with a picture of the comedian Eric Morecambe being shown and the "correct" answer being Heston Blumenthal. Prizes are vital supplies such as fuel and food. The show is constantly interrupted with messages reminding viewers to "REMAIN INDOORS".

Having read this series wasn't up to much I haven't seen any of it.

Not meaning to have a go or anything, but you couldn't spare 30 minutes to find out for yourself?

I watch so many things I am always looking for excuses not to watch stuff.

I missed the first episode and then read it wasn't up to much.

Didn't seem like it was worth wasting the time.

I'm 40 soon, I can't afford to be wasting time.
