I don't know who here remembers the "heat tolerance" thread, but statistically--I'm apparently in the "barely human" range!

There are apparantly a series of lows which have created a trough, which for the most part have kept the heat well away from the north east (thank the godzIt's another foggy morning. We've been getting a lot of fog here lately....
I live in Northern California, and it is HOT AS ASS today.
Right now, it's 103. It was 106 here earlier.
Supposed to be 107 tomorrow.
We must be neighbors. Same place, same weather conditions. All I can say is thank God for air conditioning. Without it, I'd be even sicker than this damn weather has already made me.
Makes me long for the Christmas season. Shorter days, cooler tempatures.....
Oh well. At least I can take a cold shower.
We might be neighbors. We live outside of Sacramento.
108 right now.
Good grief...
Must be in the 80s now. Too hot to bask ~ why don't I know someone with a pool![]()

to me, 80F is a little warm..but not hot..
Don't you guys have window units over there? Or are they just not practical for some reason?Portable air conditioners don't work unless you install them properly in such a way that the hot air can't just come back inside. Hanging the pipe out the window doesn't work.
And if you do install them, they cease to be portable.

It's the window frames usually. Am I right in thinking that window units usually fit inside the frame of the window ?
Most windows in our houses open outwards rather than upwards.
Yeah, my AC is still in storage...and rain and much cooler than normal weather for this time of year. There are apparantly a series of lows which have created a trough, which for the most part have kept the heat well away from the north east (thank the godzIt's another foggy morning. We've been getting a lot of fog here lately....) I sleep with the bedroom slider open allowing in very comfortable 50F air, and most of June barely scratched the 70s. No hot weather in sight, either. This was the most comfortable June ever, plus I haven't had to run the a/c at all
