25th Anniversary Trailer

Butters

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I'm trying to find a trailer online, it was on the TUC VHS tape and celebrated 25 years of Trek and introduced DS9. It has the following line and was the best trek trailer ever:

"For one quarter of a century, they have thrilled us with their adventures, amazed us with their discoveries, and inspired us with their courage. Their ship has journeyed beyond imagination; her name has become legend; her crew, the finest ever assembled. We have traveled beside them from one corner of the galaxy to the other. They have been our guides, our protectors, and our friends."

Has anyone posted a youtube anywhere? I still have the original tape, but I don't have VCR anymore.

Regards

Wow, thanks for posting by the way, but that's nothing like the UK version.

In Britain, the trailer was more of a montage, and had TNG clips and DS9, and showed a lot of the matt paintings like the castle from The Cage, but the script seems to be same. Different voice too I think.

This I think is what you mean. Man I loved that trailer back around 1995 when I used to get my trek through UK imported VHS. That trailer was at the beginning of all of them and I watched it through every single time :techman:

Thats the banana. Most excellent and it really peaked my trekkiness back in the day.

Would love to see an update on that with clips and bits from the subsequent series/TOSr and the new film.

Cheers :techman:

That was slightly amusing. Some nice dialogue quips i.e. "I guess we weren't sufficiently <Shatner Pause> entertaining" but also a bit sloppy at times. Also, I guess since it came from a PAL source(?) Kirk sounded rather 'chipmunk-ish' at times -- don't think I could ever get used to that.

isnt it the voice of Chrisopher Plummer? I LOVED that entire trailer..thanks for that!

Rob

This however, must be one of the greatest trailers ever. I once thought that was Mark Lenard doing the V.O., but yes it most definitely is Plummer.

And all the more cool knowing the shared history of Shatner/Plummer. It must have been real cool for those two, friends all those years ago, to finally do a movie together.

I think Plummer is a cool dude. I like him even when a movie he is in might be a turkey. Almost like Hopkins, or Kingsley, or even Connery. Just has the elegance to him..

That trailer used to send goose bumps down my spine and I was sad to lose it when I ditched my vhs for dvds. Nice to see it again. :)

I like the American version better, but is that Tony Todd doing the voice over on the British trailer? I can't be sure--my ears could be playing tricks on me.
