Jeff Goldblum is Not Dead

I can't believe after both the tragic deaths of Jackson and Fawcett they would have to go and start joking about Jeff Goldblum dying. I mean, you just don't joke about death. PERIOD.

^^^ I was surprised by how much I actually like him on the show.

Well, it shouldn't be that hard to believe. Not everyone treats death the same way, and in general, not everyone on the internet behaves with ... decorum.

I think it's incorrect to say that no one should ever joke about death at all, though. Humor can be a very useful tool in dealing with difficult situations, death and dying included. Appropriateness varies, of course.

Oh lighten the hell up. Sometimes (hell, most of the time), joking about it is the only way to deal with death.

It's not joking about death that bothers me, it's how people do it. Making fun of someone who died just to be a dick....I just don't find that to be cool at all. People who die have friends and family and I am pretty sure that if someone very close to you died, the last thing you would want to do is hear or read about people making fun of them and "celebrating" their death just because they are ignorant assholes.

^^ Exactly. Joking about or badmouthing Farrah or MJ would be very tasteless. And the false reports of Jeff Goldblum's death are tasteless. But joking about Jeff Goldblum is not a problem, because he's okay-- sort of like Mark Twain's "the reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

Well, I can understand why people would feel that joking about death is tasteless, but, on the other hand, I've seen enough death in my lifetime that, the only way I can deal with it is to joke about it. I'd go nuts otherwise.
