Breaking: Michael Jackson hospitalized

His Wikipedia entry has already been updated to include mention of his death today. That certainly didn't take long, although I can't say I'm surprised about that.

Damn, this was really out of the blue. I have to admit I have... mixed feelings about this. My opinion of him these past few years hasn't exactly been favourable. Regardless, he was one hell of an entertainer in his prime -- his music and performance style were hugely popular and influential. Today, I'll try my best to remember him for that.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

Well, I think I'm going to start believing this story is legit.

How can I support someone so unstable like he became and a talented artist at the same time. I know this is probably really wrong of me to say, but in my view, the Michael Jackson who I knew was gone long before today. Today's reports just make me remember the good times of songs like Thriller (And that awesome music video), Got to be Startin' Somthing, Bad, Black & White, Beat It, and the song from Free Willy I really liked. Those were good times. :(

News just reported that his condition has been downgraded to dead.

For those counting that is now three.

1. Ed McMahon
2. Farrah Fawcett
3. Michael Jackson

Plus Serena Gale (Elosha from Battlestar Galactica).

Patrick Swayze and Walter Croncite aren't looking too hot these days either.

Wow. Weird as he was, he was a huge figure in the world of music. And way too young to die. :(

This is so sad. :( Not only has he passed away but so has Farrah Fawcett as well. :( I really liked his music in the 80's and was big on "Thriller" as well as "Bad" and his "Beat It" songs. I don't think it was a pill overdose. They said he was in cardiac arrest at the hospital and wasn't breathing. He's been in poor health these past few weeks. He was also in a coma and didn't come out of it. When Mom told me about it, she said it wasn't looking that good for him at all. And sure enough, a few moments later, he was reported dead.

The crawl on E! says that he's been pronounced dead.

Man, and we did the Thriller dance World's Record thing just back last October. :(

In the absence of any fresh actual news, the rolling news channels have now taken to their usual filler habit of interviewing other journalists. I suspect one day, they'll actually just do a "chain reaction" of interviews on each other down the same sidewalk.

Time to stop watching and go to bed I think!

What's going to happen to all that debt he collected all those years? is his family going to have to pay for it all?

I'm very sorry to hear this. :(

Despite, however, what a billion people a second are saying on Twitter, Jeff Goldblum did not fall to his death from a hotel balcony in New Zealand this morning! It's a hoax!

He can be young forever now. The bigger the icon, the earlier they go it seems. I wonder if we'll get the sort of mass mourning on the streets we saw happening with Princess Diana. His fans might be even more passionate...

I think the timing of his death has wrecked havoc with E News' broadcast. There's some jerky tributes to both Farrah and Michael with no sense of editing.

Okay, now they're going live.

Wow...just this afternoon, Farrah, now MJ

I wasn't a huge Jackson fan in, well, decades, but he did have small children :(

Well, Holy Crap. Didn't see this coming. The poor guy. He was pretty twisted, but I don't have anything against him; he had a weird life and went mad-- I feel sorry for him.

RIP, Michael Jackson.
