Gay Exorcism!?!?!

People certainly have a choice on whether they act on their homosexual urges, but a gay virgin is still gay.

Your sexuality doesn't start existing only once you have sex.

Very true. My point is simply, it is your choice to act on those urges, to live that lifestyle, or not. I am sure there will be people who have homosexual urges but who have repented, chose not to act or live that lifestyle, turned their life to Christ, who will be in heaven. Cause that is really all that matters when it comes down to it, do you have faith in Christ. That again, is another choice you can make.
So the only alternative to being gay is to become a monk.

Unless you're being an adulterer. God frowns on that.

Because that is a state of the heart. When you commit adultery, you break a bond between you and the person to whom you have committed yourself. Infidelity is the same as lying. It requires the heart to know the truth and to purposely deny that truth in favor of a lie. It's why I am a major proponent of gay marriage, and I think a lot of gay people are in favor of gay marriage. It's a heart issue.

Heart...crotch...is there a difference? :p

My major problem with religion is that if people truly believe that God created everything, why is it so hard to believe that God also created homosexuals?

Because God cannot sin. However, sin can be born out of worldly or mans sin. Thus people can be born with a predilection of feeling homosexual. However, it is still your choice to live that life style, no matter how you might feel. The choice is yours to give into those feelings, or choose not to.

I think people sell themselves short when they say they don't have a choice. I might feel very strongly about murdering people, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like having sex with minors, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like having sex with the same sex, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like driving a Yugo, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like going to France, but I have a choice whether I do or not.

That is my opinion and what I believe anyway.

And yet God is supposed to be all-loving and all-accepting, so why can't the followers of those faiths be the same?

Trying to understand the nature of God is not an easy task, even people who have studied the Bible all their lives only scratch the surface on the nature of God, but one thing we do know, he does not accept sin according to the Bible. The great thing is though, your sins can be forgiven, with faith in Christ. This is a forgiveness that neither me nor you nor anyone on this planet can understand, it truly is perfect, your sin is washed away, doesn't exist according to God once you ask for forgiveness, its crazy the kind of love he is offering us. As I stated above, it is simply another choice you can choose to make, or not. I've made my choice, so I can only speak for myself and what I believe.

Ugh. This is why i left organized religion. :(

Look, i can't not be gay; it's what i am. And if god doesn't like me for what i am, then he clearly isn't a just god.

And I believe you are delusional and don't know what you are talking about. To compare a person's sexuality to traveling to France, driving a Yugo, pedophiles and murder is pretty insulting to people's intelligence, and I am a heterosexual. Not to mention insulting to actual homosexual people. But you blanket it in your "God" talk so that is supposed to make it okay? In my opinion, you need to leave your archaic beliefs in an invisible man floating in the sky back in the dark ages and join the 21st century. Or do you still need a bedtime story and a night-lite to go to sleep as well?

But don't you see?! You can still be gay! You just have to choose never to act on it! And you have to pray a lot and constantly apologize for being gay.

Sounds like fun to me.

One thing about freewill, you certainly have that choice.

I've made a choice to put my faith in Christ, repent of my sins. The option is there for you too, or anyone, regardless of their state of being and regardless of their sexual orientation, anyone can come to Christ, he is there for all.

I was born this way, so i really doubt Christ will turn me straight. I spent the fist 18 years of my life as a Catholic and i am still gay.

Ugh. This is why i left organized religion. :(

I've lived a lie among many of my friends for 24 years. I can't and won't do it for the rest of my life.

The beautiful thing, my dear sir, is that God isn't limited to one understanding, to one interpretation. Where some may say "God does not allow this because it is evil", others will say, "God will bless this because it is beautiful". Even though I have devoted my life to understanding God, She is still unknowable in more than the tiniest of ways. I learn about God through what I see of the universe, of what I see in His creation. Love transcends our myopic understanding of God, and where we are blind, love clearly sees. Love is not blind, love knows what it wants, and God is love, of that I am most certain.

Certainly your opinion, and I respect it, the freewill to make the choices we want is pretty amazing IMO.

No hard feelings :)

Thank you. And i would like to think that God wants us all to be happy, and for me to be happy, it would be with a man.

Maybe God wants you to have a puppy!

As I stated above, freewill is amazing, and it is surely your choice to do so. I've simply offered another choice, one that leads to true happiness, true peacefulness, and a love that is unconditional. I know what my choice is.

No hard feelings, and I wish you well :)

I really don't know what was going on in the video. It may well have been a true exorcism, or it may have been a sham. I can't really criticize since I don't what was going on.

That's fine for you, but according to you, me being what i am makes me an automatic sinner. I'm sorry but i can't buy that. And there you said, "unconditional" so long as i'm not gay. That's the vibe i'm getting here dude.

ETA: Meant for Brent.
