Gay Exorcism!?!?!

You tell then J. This makes me sad. :(

Honestly, I don't know what to do anymore. How do you combat that kind of thinking? Anything I say to that kind of mindset will simply be ignored, and they'll go on spreading it. It's an uphill battle all the way, and I've no intention of giving up, but sometimes it can be really disparaging, and yes, I can see this becoming a national thing with many more churches posting videos, and we've got ourselves a new fear tactic to fight.

If he is 18, he has the right to do what he wants in regards to an Exorcism. It seems these activists only want to throw a fit when it involves gayness, yet they are quiet about other forms of exorcism.

I'm not quiet about it. I think it's barbaric. People have died from exorcisms, and all this does is push the gay community further from the church. Would you feel welcome in a church like that if you were gay? I wouldn't.

I do agree that Exorcisms are an ancient practice, that while relevant in Jesus's time, really aren't relevant anymore. We have more tools now, than early Christians did, to resist the devil and his demons. For one, to the topic of this young boy, if he were to put his faith in Christ, he would receive the peace he is looking for. I think he is looking in the wrong place by choosing Exorcism.

I also think the activists are out of line and going a bit far here since the boy consciously and purposeful, out of his own rights and free will, opted to have this Exorcism done to him. It is obvious they spoke up only because it deals with homosexuality.

My major problem with religion is that if people truly believe that God created everything, why is it so hard to believe that God also created homosexuals?

Because God cannot sin. However, sin can be born out of worldly or mans sin. Thus people can be born with a predilection of feeling homosexual. However, it is still your choice to live that life style, no matter how you might feel. The choice is yours to give into those feelings, or choose not to.

I think people sell themselves short when they say they don't have a choice. I might feel very strongly about murdering people, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like having sex with minors, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like having sex with the same sex, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like driving a Yugo, but I have a choice whether I do or not. I might feel like going to France, but I have a choice whether I do or not.

That is my opinion and what I believe anyway.

People certainly have a choice on whether they act on their homosexual urges, but a gay virgin is still gay.

Your sexuality doesn't start existing only once you have sex.

^One of the reasons why i left the Catholic Church.

A pretty good reason to, I might add.

True, he could have chosen another path. For example, Christian Mysticism doesn't even look at sexual orientation. It's core belief is that God is approachable by everyone.

In my own faith, God does accept gay people, and loves them for who they are. God places emphasis on what is in the heart, not on what is between one's legs.

Very true. My point is simply, it is your choice to act on those urges, to live that lifestyle, or not. I am sure there will be people who have homosexual urges but who have repented, chose not to act or live that lifestyle, turned their life to Christ, who will be in heaven. Cause that is really all that matters when it comes down to it, do you have faith in Christ. That again, is another choice you can make.

And yet God is supposed to be all-loving and all-accepting, so why can't the followers of those faiths be the same?
