Donald Sutherland got the last seat on the plane by agreeing to serve peanuts. He flirted with my mom. My mom also got a marriage proposal on the PSA world trip ('72) from a Bahraini (?) prince, I think. She was also on the cover of a '74 PSA magazine.

Must have been a hot little number in her day. :D

I think I like Pine clean-shaven (his stubble and near full-on beard do nothing for me). Quinto pulls off the stubble look very well on the other hand and it suits him (though is perhaps something that is strongly associated with his Sylar role) as well as the clean-shaven look. I do generally prefer clean-shaven men.

There's only a few examples I can think of where say, a beard or mustache makes them look a lot better than without. Clark Gable without his mustache was not nearly as attractive as he was with it. He's one of those people that if you see him without it, it just seems weird and bizarre. Abraham Lincoln without his beard is another one that just seems out-of-place. I mean, can you imagine Tom Selleck without a mustache? The thought is enough to make your head spin. And I'm just so used to seeing Sean Connery with a two-tone beard, seeing him in his Bond days also has a bit of a WTF?! element to it at first glance.

Stubble though looks good on men who can pull off the rugged look. Pine has too much of a baby face for it, IMO. Very cute, but still a baby face. I think his facial hair grows in a bit too thick, and even with stubble it looks beard-like. Quinto's facial hair doesn't go up as high on his cheeks, and even though it is darker, doesn't seem beard-like.

I agree with Nile.

Pine-Stubble = no good.

Quinto-five o'clock: good. not great mind you, but good.

IMO, the one Trek guy who can pull the greatest five o'clock is actually the leaner, meaner Scott Bakula of Season 3 ENT.

I saw the actor who played Mr. Trick in season 3 of BtVS playing the goat professor in Wicked (in a Broadway production that came to San Diego). I recognized his voice immediately. I've also stood about 5 feet away from Arnold Schwarzenegger (during a political rally). I've also met radio personality Roger Hedgecock several times at the Del Mar Fair (if that counts as a celebrity)--he knows the Boneys. My mom's aunt married Henry Boney (now deceased) of Boney's/Henry's Marketplace fame, but that's just a local So.Cal grocery chain.

My dad's had Robin Williams (drunk or stoned) and Ray Charles (not particularly sociable) on his planes (commercial airline captain from '70 to '00--PSA and USAir/USAirways) and told Pat Boone to pick up his trash at the airport. My mom's served peanuts with Donald Sutherland (she was a PSA stewardess from '70 to '86). Donald Sutherland got the last seat on the plane by agreeing to serve peanuts. He flirted with my mom. My mom also got a marriage proposal on the PSA world trip ('72) from a Bahraini (?) prince, I think. She was also on the cover of a '74 PSA magazine.

But yeah, I'm definitely well-known as an Angel/David Boreanaz fangirl with Wesley/Alexis Denisof as my second favorite. But I do love Spike/James Marsters and the rest, too.

It's awesome that you got to meet James Marsters and Leonard Nimoy.

My husband almost ran over Robin Williams with a bicycle.

I met Shatner, too, but he came off as a self-centered, arrogant prick - and I wasn't the only one to think so.

Here's a case where a beard or stubble almost (I did say "almost") successfully disguises one of the hardest-to-disguise mugs in entertainment history: http://musicmaven.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/charro-elvis.jpg

Anyway...

Here's some clean-shaven ZQ (click for bigger):

And a few more sillies:

He looks a bit like Nicholas Brendon... but hopefully he's not that annoying. Xander's annoying personality always distracted from his looks.

I agree. When I was scrolling through pictures in this thread the first time, that's who I thought it was until I read the post more closely. I wondered why someone would bother to post his picture in a thread full of hotness when Nicholas is merely cute, but then I realized it was Orci and it made more sense.

Oh, well sorry- I just felt like doing it. :p I'll get back to kirk/spock or just quit if i get bored. I guess I've got a wandering eye.
I had to look Nicholas Brenden up- no idea who that was... Now that everthing is digital my tv reception is finally great. It was complete crap before. I don't have cable ( I. know, I know)

Depends. Is he single? :D
Hehe, I believe they are all married( writers ,director)

On Chris' turquoise blue jacket a few pages back- Yeah, I think he should give that to his little sister ( or someone else's if he doesn't have one);)

OH, thanks for this Nile::)

I guess if fits that Gabriel has this hobby when I think about it- since he's dealing with the "brains" of the watch, so to speak.

And the rain gif- love that too- he's sexy with the water denching his face, then turns creepy when he looks directly into the camera.

Found some stuff in other people's photobucket album:

God, he does that evil expression thing soo well!

(Scott is my personal candidate for No. 1 backside in Trek.)

Sam Elliott is one who looks better with a mustache.

Here are Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott together in Shadow Riders. The mustachioed boyz. Los Bigotes Grandes.

:rommie: Scott was pretty um, erm, fit! he looked better w/ shorter hair and stubble, too. Nimoy wore the stache/facial hair pretty well in the MU too! (see left for reference ) :rommie:

That is very likely my FAVORITE photo of ZQ. It's disturbingly hot (the tongue) plus quite guffaw-worthy. It was also the episode where they finally debunked whether Sylar eats brains or not, which makes the picture even funnier.

And as I said before... People walking around painlessly with prop foreign objects sticking out of them is rather entertaining (for goodness sake, every few episodes of Angel has swords, 2x4s and rebars going through David Boreanaz like a pincushion--it gets hot after a while--that was probably the start of that disturbing fetish). ZQ has a faux kitchen knife sticking out of him there.

And yep, Gabriel's gift is the hunger to know how things work (hence the watches hobby leading to him figuring out how other people's powers work--and I think it's Chandra that tells him it's in the brain--and of course, he gets his drive to want to be "special" from his crazy mother). And when he tries to hang himself for killing his first victim, Noah and Elle interrupt and make him show what he does by making him a monster again. Easily the most interesting character on that show with one of the most well-developed character journeys.

The Sylar disguise becomes so comforting to him that even when he learns he can take powers by empathizing with people, when his identity starts getting messed up by the shape-shifting, he does the brain-slices simply because of it being Sylar's defining behavior.

IMO, there's a reason the writers of Heroes tend to focus on Sylar a lot. He's a sick sociopath with everyone manipulating him, but an interesting one.

Speaking of the Gabriel Gray/Sylar thing being like the evil version of Clark Kent/Superman (it's awesome that Gabriel looks a bit like Clark Kent), there's a fan video based on that aspect which is absolutely amazing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfTDs44-n5c

Star Trek 2009 did a double duty of not only turning me into a Spock fangirl (with a side of McCoy) new and old, but also a Sylar/Heroes fangirl via a delightful marathon.

Speaking of Trek, I just watched TMP and TFF last night. Starting TUC as we speak.

Just watched TUC. I've now watched I-VI of the movies. Still working on TOS, but getting there. Woot. I no longer feel like a moron around here about the franchise.

Yeah, I'm definitely going with Wrath of Khan as my favorite of the six original cast member films. I still prefer '09 a bit more, though. That Amazing Grace segment certainly gave it a big shove up in my mind along with the death scene and "most human of all" bits.

The Motionless Picture was about 70% space porn. LOL. Is there a drinking game? The last half-hour was most of the movie.

The Voyage Home was hilarious, but the "save the whales" plotline was ridiculously silly. It kind of mocks itself. Funny, though.

Overall, I think McCoy really shines through in the ST movies. Kelley was definitely one of, if not the best actor among them along with Nimoy.

Unfortunately, I saw in a few of the movies that there was some untapped emotional material that should have been exploited a bit more (though it was touched upon in a handful of the films/episodes). That was one thing that I think '09 upped the ante with. The "space opera" aspect is something that does appeal to me (which is probably why before this last film, I unequivocally called myself only a Star Wars fan between the two rivaling franchises). Wrath of Khan gets the closest with taking advantage of the emotional aspect.

Chris has an older sister (by eight years), Kathryn. :)

ah, thanks for the info. Then I guess given their ages, he probably wouldn't have siblings that were much younger.

Love that cast photo with Zoe, Zach, Chris and John! I love how Zach's eyes just always pop out because of how huge and dark they are. Of course, Chris has those bright baby blues.

Because it's something you have to watch on loop... over and over and over again.:

And because they are just so pretty!:
