VOY vs ENT, The Showdown!

VOY or ENT?

Voyager is the only series I have not purchased on DVD. More than anything els I hate what they did with the Borg. Maybe, if I find it for a REALLY good price I will pick it up. There is not enough there to get me to pay the money.

With Enterprise I can skip about 10 episodes and really enjoy rewatching the series. Seasons 3 and 4 are some of my favorite in all of Trek. Oh, and no Q. I have to go with Enterprise.

An easy win for Enterprise. The interesting thing about this poll, is that it is showing that people's opinions of Ent may have changed with time. I remember this one being being held back in the day when Ent was still on the air and Ent losing pretty badly.

Easy win? I think some and alot of the episodes on ENT were kind of...well..inpracticle..and VOY had a lot of cool Borg and 8472 stuff..I think they are like..tied.

Yes, easy win. I said it right? ;)
Voy destroyed the borg. 8472 was alright though. That said, it only accounts for like what, 3 or 4 episodes?

8472 could have been amazing uber-villains, but instead they were reduced to being just 'aliens of the week.' Their war with the Borg should have lasted longer than than just two episodes, IMO.

Yep, that was problem with voyager. It had alot of potential, between Year of Hell (which was supposed to be a season long arc, an ACTUAL year of hell), the Borg, 8472, and being lost 70 years from earth. Unfortunately though the studio decided to screw over the creative staff and we got what we got.

Ent had the same problem as well, but towards the end some of its potential began to be realized

Love both but Voyager is my second favourite Trek after TOS due to the brilliant characters. I think the last season of Voyager was a lot weaker than the last series of Enterprise but overall the show was a lot more interesting and no character on Enterprise is as interesting as Janeway, The Doctor or Tom Paris.

I have to give this one to ENT. The show was far from perfect - only a slight improvement over VOY in some regards - but at least it managed to hold onto its premise a bit more than VOY did. VOY's concept of a divided crew lost in space was quickly dropped in favor of re-hashed TNG plots and very dull episodes that went nowhere. ENT had a much greater sense of continuity and rarely, if ever, felt like it was trying to become TNG.

I despised VOY's over-reliance on technobabble to save the day, and I found some of the character dynamics boring. For an integrated crew made up of Starfleet officers and renegades, they sure got along awfully well. Not much internal conflict. ENT at least had more interesting, flawed characters. I really liked the way humans in ENT were more weary of alien species, including Vulcans. I also liked most of ENT's low tech (though I was irritated that they seemed to develop some 23rd and 24th century tech wasy too quickly). It was nice to see them afraid to use transporters, or not be able to use fancy technocrap to save the day every single week.

I also preferred the slightly smaller cast (7 series regulars compared to VOY's 9). VOY was meant to be an ensemble but in reality, the only characters who received adequate screen time and development were Janeway/Seven/Doc, with a little of Torres thrown in from time to time. ENT seemed like it was going back to the TOS mold of a focus on the primary three characters of Archer/T'Pol/Trip, while the others were more like supporting characters.
