HOLY CRAP! in comparison the NU-E if it is at the 700 m range is insanely HUGE! WERE talking BABYLON 5 & STAR WARS HUGE!

Ships have been that large in Trek for a long time -- like the first TOS production episode.

The Romulan warbird in TNG and DS9 is over 1300 m. The Dominion dreadnaught is about 1500 m. The big Kazon ship is about 1800 m. The Voth city ship is over 9000 m. Borg cubes are about 3000 m. The Varro cruiser was 19 km. There are more examples, but you get the point.

Those sizes are comparable with some SW ships, yes, but B5 routinely had stupidly big ships a few km long.

Huge? Pff, please. My manhood is longer then that.
Now, are we talking about the ILM CG version? Because one of the artist at ILM is spreading rumors that they had to bump up the scale to get a "grander feel". It is their contention that when put into the different environments it felt too small.

There is another rumor that you fired someone for creating side-by-side comparisons... but I personally don't believe any of those!

I guess I'm pretty out of touch. What mythical building is this?

This is unacceptable. My penis envy demands that America have the largest fallic structure in the world. I guess it's time to start an online petition.

At first I thought it might be that millennium gate thingy from that turn of the century Voyager episode.

We better get going then. There are now 1200 meter buildings on the drawing boards in the Middle East. The best we've got planned is the Chicago Spire at half that height.

To me, the size of these buildings is the most compelling argument for the Enteprise being scaled up to be so large for this movie. If we're soon to be building 4000 foot tall structures, a skyscaper in space like the Enterprise makes sense. Actually, more sense than a starship just 1000 feet in length with only a 300 foot diameter primary hull.

The "Burj Dubai" - The worlds tallest building in all categories, almost completed now. Some pictures:

It's final height will be more than half a mile...

Just for kicks, can someone photoshop the Nu Enterprise next to the Burj Dubai in that shot, scaled for distance and everything?

Thank you.

Given this comparison to a real world object,I think we can see that several breweries could fit in the new Enterprise, seeing as how the enginering secion is about the size of a 30+story building.Ditto the shuttles.

Which means my extension nSpacedock must be absolutely-Biblically friggin massive.
