I prefer honey to the sickly sweetness of maple syrup. Just tastes smoother somehow.

Honey and peanut butter melted together and then drizzled atop a crispy buttery waffle is one of the greatest treats known to mankind.
^ To me, a crepe isn't really a pancake. Similar concept, sure, but it's a much different sort of food than pancakes.

"As good?"Did someone say French toast? Those are just as good as pancakes.
They also must be served with a little sweet cream butter and my mother's awesome homemade strawberry jam. You haven't lived until you have had a light crispy homemade waffle covered in my mom's strawberry jam, which is an amazing treat unto itself. (The woman has a special talent when it comes to making anything with sugar in it. Her pies and cakes are to die for.)"As good?"
Please.
Even "Far better" is an understatement. Using "As good" in this context is like comparing sardines to a macadamia and coconut-crusted pan=seared ahi steak.
And you had such potential.
Perhaps the toast I'm having isn't as well prepared as the one you're having... from your macadamia and coconut comment - sounds like you know what you're talking about when it comes to food, 'cos that sounds like a delicious combination. You'll just have to beam some of yours over to me so I can do a taste comparison. Maybe others who think they have a good recipes would like to do the same... It's a tough job, but someone's gotta' do it.
