Art Asylum Enterprise-D Model

Unlike their Enterprise-E which was a disappointment

I must very strongly disagree. But that aside, my but that Enterprise-D looks fantastic! Even if the sides of the 'neck' look a little odd without the windows. I'm also curious if it's to scale with the Ent-E. The stand you mention is the only thing that concerns me.

Its pretty close and I think it is actually to scale with the Art Asylum Ent-E.

Look at the amazing details on the hull.. All those patterns on the hull are raised and sculpted... It can be found on the entire ship including the warp nacelles.. Finely done..

I think it looks amazing, and I can't wait for mine to get here. I'm glad that the WHOLE nacelle lights up on this one. I was a little disappointed when the warp engine field grill on the Enterprise-E didn't light up.

I also heard they are coming out with a Mirror universe version of the 1701 sometime in October...

by the way, anyone know if the enterprise d ships have shipped already? or are the stores/online stores still waiting for them. the date keeps getting pushed back >_<

yes, Action Figure Express has it in stock as well as the "All Good Things"... future Enterprise...and they both looks great

I may pick this up but I have a question:

I heard rumors that the AGT Enterprise also has saucer sep. Is that true?

Its pretty nice, but I've got about three Enterprise-D models already. How about the Defiant, Voyager or the Akira for a change in the next release?

Min should arrive by Monday or Tuesday.

Can you post a video demo to show her off?

Post the video review on youtube if you can!

I'd kill for an AA Defiant or Akira, but I wouldn't hold my breath. At least I think it'd be some time if we did get any of those 3 ships you mention. After this is the Excelsior/Enterprise-B and possibly some Klingon ship and the Enterprise-C after that.

Everything looks great... except for the windowless neck.

yea i noticed that. i wonder why they left off such detail when they included other things that aren't as normally visible. wierd.

i want this and the all good things version! and i will get them!

This afternoon I saw the AA 1701-D in person at my favorite comic book store. It looks much better than I thought it would, although you can't see the windowless portions of the neck when the toy is in its package.

I want the thing now, but not for $50.

if you think it'll go downward from that... that will probably not happen. on the contrary it might go upwards as they won't keep making these if the previous ships are any indication.

i'm going to get me that two-pack which will make them $40 each.

They're also releasing a mirror universe 1701 in october.

Where do you guys find these things?

The AA stuff is nice but I am not finding them cheaper than around the 70 mark and mostly out of stock online.

Yup... It bothers me too that Art Asylum left out the window details at the neck... Really strange considering that the prototype photos of this model prior to its released showed windows on the neck section (photo below). Do take note though that if I'm not mistaken, the All Good Things version that is now available has windows on the neck..
As for this model, they have every single detail across the ship perfect except for the missing neck windows.. Darn it.. This Ent-D would have been completely perfect if not for the missing windows.. But it still doesn't take away the fact that it looks brilliant overall and looks spectacular on display if you overlook the missing windows.. No doubt, the Ent-D is still one of the better made items from Art Asylum's Starship line and its definitely a must have..

The prototype had windows on the neck!!!! >>>>

Indeed, when I first saw it in person in its packaging, the one thing that struck me first was the sheer size of the saucer and the details!!!!
