I know I’m over 10 days late with this thread but has anyone broken out those old/new War Movies in honor of D-day?

I watch (for the first time) The Longest Day.
I also broke out the Band of Brothers Box set and saving Private Ryan.

So did you watch anything?

Not this year but on the 60th anniversary I bought Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. I also bought the book Juno Beach.

My son and I watched "Band of Brothers", and just wrapped up last night. There was an interruption as he sustained an injury at a friend's graduation party. Ironically, once we got back to the series, my son said that it made is broken collarbone seem far less painful.

An amazing.... incredible mini-series. I almost couldn't get through "Why We Fight".

It is an incredible series.
I am on my 5th view of it now and I still enjoy every minute of it.
I think I enjoy it more now than the first time I saw it.

Watched everything mentioned. I was surprised that there hasn't been a modernized remake of the Longest Day, particularly with the success of BoB and Private Ryan.

I didn't watch anything but I did tape Band of Brothers off the History Channel. Never seen it before. Started watching it today, finished the first 4 episodes so far. Excellent.
