the TENTH time

Congratulations on seeing the tribble! And enjoying the show again. I'm at 16; I plan to go tonight again. I'm usually going twice a week now; I started out going every couple days.

Our IMAX actually added another screen time starting Friday; I was very pleasantly surprised. So there's a 7 p.m. show, in addition to the 9:45 one.

DAMN! JERI! How I can I catch your number!! Okay, I'm going again then. Its still showing here this weekend, and my uncle is in town and hasn't seen it. And my five year old wants to see it again. So there's two more times. Not sure what I'll look for this time. Oh..I know. The tag on Uhura's underwear! Always something to look at in that scene (wink wink)

Rob

Good luck. I've seen it nine times, but no way I'll catch up with Jeri. She'll probably watch it four times to match your four. :)

I'm at three. Four is a dim possibility at this point. And while I could possibly see watching a film 10 times with the aid of the Blu-ray/DVD and a few years, I'm actually hard pressed to think of many films at all I've seen 16 times. Certainly Star Wars Ep IV. Possibly The Wizard of Oz. Maybe The Godfather or the The Matrix. But not too many more.

But 16 times in the theater? That's what they call dedication there.

I'm at 10...will be at 12 at the end of this weekend.

And..get this!!! I got a free pass to the Transformer opening weekend. Doubt I will go the first couple days, because the lines will be horrific. But the dude, who when he heard it was my tenth time, gave me the passed. So I'm going to take my son. (or celine dion*). Should be fun.

*check out the I BONKED CELINE DION thread over in TV-MEDIA forum for details.

Rob

Okay, as far as the Transformer thing goes, cool. :techman:

As for Celine Dion...gah! :wtf:

I am not kidding..I bet I saw KHAN nearly fifty times when it was out. Toward the end of its run they paired it with TMP at a local $1 theatre at the time. I would go in at 1010Am, and stay until midnight. ( I would sleep during TMP, to keep my strength up, which wasn't hard to do.)

I'm at seven and I am not even trying to catch up to Jeri. she'll beat us all.

I would catch her...if...as spock said.."he has the time doctor. If he has the time."

But 12 is doable, though I think she might be approaching 20 by the end of the weekend. Though, who knows, maybe it wont be playing where she lives anymore, and I can catch her then!!!

Rob

the trick would be to go watch and not tell her here. that way, she won't know and she won't try to one-up you. then come back and say, I've now watched it 30 frickin' times. boo ya!!

 You guys. It's not a contest; I have my own personal cravings to deal with. It has nothing to do with anybody else.

It's fun to talk about, and I like to encourage people as much as possible to go and see it. But if I never visited here, I would still be going.

I'm just slightly concerned about what will happen when it leaves town.

Jeri: you're my hero. I only managed to watch it four times. Also, please don't pity me, the only IMAX I have near home didn't even *consider* showing Star Trek...

It may be a studio decision; how could the IMAX not even consider it, given the money involved?

Sanae, I've been rewatching TNG the last couple months. Today's episode was "Hollow Pursuits," and I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Let that be a lesson to me. Edit: those guys lost a lot of $$.

two words: alternate timeline!!
Don't make me go all dictionary on you.

Yeah, Rob! Don't go into the nebula!

The only thing they show there are 3D documentaries. IMAX isn't a big thing here in Italy, for some stupid reason.

Yeah, the first time was on the preview on Thursday evening, we went with another couple who had never seen Star Trek before. They loved the movie and they told me that they've got the first season of TOS on DVD so that they can watch the original (eh! I'm even converting people here!! LOL).

The second time, was with a girlfriend who had nothing to do that evening and I 'convinced' her to watch it by saying that there were lots of hotties in it. She said I was right (took a fancy for Chekov, the pervert...) :p

The third time, it was with my husband after I threatened him with a kitchen strike if he didn't take me to watch it again. And the fourth time was just last week because I knew they were going to take it out of their programme so, I *had* to go, even if it was by myself. I know you all understand me here, right?
