*LOL* Have fun. There's a nice contrast between Sisko's physical appearance and tiny little girlish voice.![]()
“Gates” is actually a middle name. Cheryl Gates McFadden. Mother’s maiden name or something like that, I imagine. She worked on TV and movies as a choreographer under the name Cheryl McFadden. For some reason when she started acting she wanted to use a different name as an actress than as a choreographer, so she decided to use “Gates McFadden” as an actress and “Cheryl McFadden” as a choreographer.I always found "Gates" to be a strange name. I wonder how many of these names are just stage names versus real names?
The French pronounciation would be O-ber-zhon-wa. The only question is whether Rene pronounces is the French way, or an Anglicized way.Anyone else thought that the cast of DS9 had some really strange names? Strange names in BOLD.
I have never seen anyone have the same first names as the following.
AVERY Brooks
COLM Meany
ARMIN Shimerman
CIRROC Lofton
ARON (not Aaron) Eisenberg
SALOME Jens
ROSALIND Chao
Unique last names:
Rene Auberjonois (How does one pronounce "Auberjonois"? I would pronounce it Ah-ber-jon-wa. His name isn't that strange really, it's French.)
Doesn't seem to be that unusual in Italy: http://www.facebook.com/s.php?q=alaimo&init=quickMax Grodenchik
Marc Alaimo (Again, how does one pronounce Alaimo? Alamo, like the place in Texas?
They say something along the lines of "Al-eye-mo" on the DVD extras, IIRC.Marc Alaimo (Again, how does one pronounce Alaimo? Alamo, like the place in Texas?

I am not making fun of these fine actors, I just find some of their names to be strange.
