Like I said in the poll thread, I'd never seen an Orion with ginger hair, and I hadn't thought of hormone or pheromone supressors, so I agree with you.
I am pretty sure I saw her in the audience of the 'kirk promotion' scene about 4-5 rows up from the bottom. Seemed to me with shorter hair, but the same color.
She was pretty fuc#ing hot, but that shade of green was weird (compared to the incredible hotness of the Enterprise/Archer Orion chicks)

Did they have life boats in the 23rd century? kirk was certainly kicked off the Ent in something similar to a lifeboat. Even if she was on a ship destroyed over Vulcan perhaps she got off inside a lifeboat. Heck! maybe she landed on Delta Vega.

I'm pretty certain I saw her (or another Orion girl) in that scene too...
Oh, now there's something I hadn't stopped to consider! That would explain her ability to function. Or rather, men's ability to function around her without tenting their jumpers too much.
I've just seen the movie again. I got too wrapped up in the story by the end so I forgot to look out for her at the promotion scene, but I think she's on the Enterprise.
At the assignment scene, she turns to Uhura with a brilliant smile and then Uhura immediately storms off to confront Spock about why she's not on the Enterprise and I think the only thing that could have caused that immediate level of fury is knowing that she is not on the Enterprise, but Gaila is.
After all, if Gaila was assigned to the Farragut like Uhura was, then Uhura wouldn't necessarily realise that cadets were being assigned to the Enterprise. It wouldn't be unreasonable for her to assume that the flagship of the fleet would have the most senior crew available, and since she - who was top of her class and easily the best linguist on Earth - wasn't assigned to the Enterprise, then no-one would be. But for Gaila to be assigned is a huge slap in the face for Uhura because it means she was deliberately not assigned to the ship that her performance deserves.

I am 99% sure her name is called and she is assigned to the Farragut. The reason she is so excited is because she is going anywhere, on a starship, poor girl.

You may be confusing it with the book, where she is assigned to the Farragut. This is one non-canon factoid I'm ignoring. If I have to ignore George on the road unwillingly, then I get this one for free.
I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from a return visit to the movie to find out, though.

Personally, I don't mind it, I just can't see why it would be true. George would be 4 years old when Nero enters the timeline. Unless we're accepting that the timeline seen in the latest movie was already the result of tampering by Future Guy, Crewman Daniels, etc, in the series Enterprise?Oh I believe that.
